FS is done to find out if you are developing egg in that cycle.Why do you do follicular study every month if you are developing follicle?.if follicle does not develop ,then we give medicines and see if follicle develops in the next cycle.follicle decrease also taken as rupture .free fluid in the POD is another evidence of follicular rupture .unless you are doing IUI, you don’t need FS everymonth.Based on what date your follicle ruprures ,you plan your contact with your husband around that time.once in a while follicle may develop but may not ruprure for which they have given the injection

Small follicles are evidence of POLYCYSTIC OVARIES.Once formed they will always be there..To prevent further worsening avoid sweets and fried items.It is good to take sprouts when you are trying to conceive.Your thyroid values should be normal before you become pregnant

The right tube and ovary must have been removed because of ectopic pregnancy I guess.There is 1 in 300 chance of ectopic pregnancy in family planning operation.It is very difficult to predict.There is no 100% assurance for anything in medicine.

The pain during intercourse may be because of
1.dryness-increasing the foreplay will help to increase the vaginal secretions and hence pain will be reduced
2.there can be infection –has to be treated by relevant medicines
3.can be due to endometriosis which can be diagnosed by laparoscopy.
4.it can be because you are not relaxing which again can be due to pain.
Rather than taking pain killers the route cause has to be treated

Dear ,you eat normal food,your doctor might give additional supplements .supplements may not increase the weight .eating raw vegetables is alright if it is severe growth retardation ,the doctor might opt for c-section. It also depends on whether the fluid around the baby is normal,the presentation of the baby,the nature of the cervix,(the mouth of the uterus)

I am trying to get pregnant for 1 and a half yrs with no success. I have a retroverted uterus and chocolate cyst. But my dr told as that is not a problem. I had mu follicle study and it is also normal. Then i took HSG scan and it is also normal. Dr asked me to come after three months if i wont get pregnant. What will be the next step of treatment i need to have? Whether retroverted uterus and cyst will be the problem?

For retroverted uterus ,after having contact lie down with your face down,and hip up,like you do while worshiping on the floor.the chocolate cyst is an indication of a condition called endometriosis.it can cause infertility.you might have to undergo laparoscopy .with treatment it is possible to conceive naturally

I understand your anxiety.But please remember if 100 pregnancies happen ,about 20 % will be aborted.The main reason for that is the fetus which was formed was not chromosomally normal which again is a random process.One or two abortions are common in everyone’s life .Please consider it as a small accident and try again.we normally check for Hb%,bloosd sugar ,thyroid,antiphospholipid antibodies ,karyotyping of both the partners, if there are more than 3 abortions.

These tests are enough.USG –you have to take what is called as follicular study to know if you are developing follicles which are egg containing structures.If you had only a pelvic scan once before it will be advisable to take a follicular study scan.Even when everything is normal sometimes it takes about an year also to conceive.Have you checked your husbands semen ?If not please do it. Bleeding in early pregnancy could be due to early abortion or ectopic pregnancy.sometimes it can occur when the fetus is alright also.you need to check your serum beta hcg levels and an USG.kinly use the following link to get my number

Nothing will happen if you have taken folinine twice a day.it is a water soluble vitamin ,if taken in excess ,it gets excreted in urine.you are saying from april 2011,by this time you should have delivered.is it april 2012?

Nuts should be taken only in limited quantity during pregnancy or otherwise also.one or two pieces of anyone of these nuts will be sufficient.too much of it will make you put on weight more than normal,which is not advised.dry fruits are not needed. You take fresh fruits.dry fruits are for people who are under weight .

i was anemic but was not able to know the reason but after getting married i got tensed because of this as i have to plan for a baby in near future so HB should remain normal above 10. It use to remain 7 earlier. I discussed the same with my doctor she advised some tests and it is diagnosed that i am Thal-minor. Moreover my blood group is AB negative. My age is 28 and half year. I got married in 2010 and completed two years. Now me and my husband are planning in another 6 months we will start planning for a baby. SO is it advisable? or i will face some problems if i delay it for 6 months. Another thing is my doctor has given me some Folic acid tablets which i am taking regularly and which has increased my HB to 12 but since i am thal minor so my doctor advised to continue these tablets till the time i am not planning anything. My another question is my doctor has given me Trapic MF tablet since my bleeding is more and she suggested I can take it for long run. Please advise.

I know that when you have an iron shot administered it has to be done in hospital under a professional. Is it possible, if you were going on a long vacation and needed the iron shots -as they worked better than a supplement- to take them with you? If so, do they need to be kept refrigerated, or can they survive at room temp out of sunlight etc? (I'd like to know the second part of that question even if the answer is no to the first part)
Can you switch between having iron shots and tablets in general or do people usually stick to one or the other? When would iron shots be more recommended?- When they're anaemia is very severe? Hope you can help, I can't find a particular expert for this question.

Iron injections can be taken with you.they need not be refrigerated.room temp is fine .no drug should be allowed exposure to sunlight.you can switch between injections and tablets.iron injections are prescribed when the person is not able to tolerate oral iron or if there is severe iron deficiency anemia

Hello just wondering if an ultrasound can tell the difference between 13 weeks and 15 weeks.. I had an ultrasound dating my 13 weeks 3 days.. I just want to know if it could be off by two weeks? Also the ultrasound gave me a lmp of 10/18/2011 due 7/24/2012 but my actual lmp 10/27/2011 gave me due date of 8/2/2012 which one would be more accurate because the first one means I concieved two days after my period and I heard your fertile 14 days AFTER your period!?!?? And to caculate conception you just remove two weeks correct?

LMP-means the first day of the last menstrual period
The due date is calculated by adding 7 days and subtracting 3 months
We do not deduct 2 weeks as you say eventhough the conception occurs around the 14 th day after periods
The first trimester scan can have difference of one week plus or minus.
If there is dfference more than that the date fixed by the scan will be reliable especially if your periods are not strictly 28 day cycle

even if everything is normal the chances for conception in one particular cycle is around 20 %.at the end of one year 70% of the people conceive.so keep trying for few more months.
It is better to have your haemoglobin,sugar and thyroid checked before conception

I am 25 years old. I and my husband have been trying for a baby for the last one year. We consulted a doctor and as per his prescription i had 'duoluton L' for 21 days that started from 6th day (i.e. Jan 26) of my last periods (Jan22). And i am also having 'Thyronorm 25mg' for the last one and a half months. This time my periods (started Feb 22nd, my period cycle is 30-31 days and it was due on the same day as per cycle) looks bit different compared to the usual one. I am not having much bleeding and pain comes off and on. From the 1st day onwards it’s discharging brown fleshy type of things with not having much bleeding. Usually in the 2nd day of period i will have heavy bleeding, which was not there this time. Even in the 3rd day of periods, was still discharging brown and dark red fleshy type of things sometimes with blood clots also. This time I had only 3days of periods, usually I have 4 or 5 days of periods. We had an unprotected sex on last February 4th. My breasts are also looking enlarged. I am not having any other feelings.So i just want to know, is it because of any side effects of medicines that i am having or should i take any pregnancy test, if so, When?. Or should i consult a doctor for this?.

Why was duoluton prescribed?.was there any irregularity before that month?
It act as a contraceptive pill for that month
If you are passing feshy bits it is better to have an ultrasound done to rule out abortion..if is cleared now you may not be able to detect it now.
The problems are not because of the tablets you have taken

I would like to know if I had sex on October 23rd, then had a period on October 28th can I be pregnant from that October the 23rd date? Then again on November 7th and 12th I had sex.My next question is I went in for an ultrasound on January 27th and the ultrasound screen said I was 12w5 days. Does that mean 12w 5 days from my last period or from the date I concieved? How does the ultrasound determine gestational age if it doesn't know the exact day of my period? Does the machine do calculations based on the average size of babies? Please help..I'm confused!!

The usg machines calculate the dates by the size of the babies-the length of the babies in the first three months which is called CRL-crown rump length.the gestational age of the fetus is calculated from LMP,that is 2 weeks prior to conception.if your periods are very regular and you are sure of ypur LMP,then your history will be given more credit than the usg.if you have irregular periods or if you are not sure of your dates then the machine will be given more credit.the calculation by the machine is plus or minus one week in the first trimester and plus or minus two weeks in the second trimester

Hello. I'd appreciate any kind of advice on my issue. I've been bleeding usually after sex but sometimes for no apparent reason. I'm on seasonique and have been for 2yrs now and have never had this problem. I've been tested for stds/hiv and everything came back clean (this was a month ago). I asked the gyn and she said finish this pack and if its still a problem I might have to change birth control. Why would this be happening out of the blue though? Its freaking me out. I also took a pregnancy test. Negative.

I don’t know the commercial name seasonique-probably a contraceptive pill.
With any hormonal pill breakthrough bleeding can happen.you may have to switch on to a higher dose. Your cervix has to examined for any polyp and a pap smear and cervix biopsy have to be if necessary

My wifes breast cancer has returned 13 since have a lumpectomy.Latest CT finding: Large mass encases sternal notch to xiphisternum.Associated bony expansion & destruction.Anteriorly nodularity extends into subcutaneous tissues of the left anterior chest wall. There is contiguous internal mammary lymph node chain adenopathy on left and distruction of the left 2nd rib.Small left superclavicular lymph nodes measuring 6mm left peripherally 2mm upper lobe, 20mm attenuation segment 4 liver lesion,15 mm spiculated focus left breast, 27mm attenulation focus right breast,possible cyst + several bone lesions.Findings consistant with metastic malignancy consistent with recurrent metastic breast carcinoma.
My wifes last year Mamagrame was clear as was last weeks blood tests and xrays.I payed for this cat scan as a procaution.
All this and things sound bad, your appinion appreciated and how long would expect.

I was an IVF patient and am now 25 weeks pregnant with twins. I have PCOS (just as an aside as this can affect blood sugar relating to my question)My OB told me that IVF twins have a higher rate of preterm labour and she suggested to me that I take 2 injections 12mg each, 48 hours apart of betamethasone to help with preterm labour and if it does occur it can help with infant respiration and bleeding into the brain. I know this is not an "infertility" question, however your knowledge has always been right on the mark in questions I've asked before and would really love your opinion on it. I do not have Diabetes, gestational or otherwise and blood sugar is not an issue and the pcos is mild. I am not overweight and have gained thus far in the 25 weeks of pregnancy about 25-30 pounds.

Any twins can go into preterm labour.there is no point in giving betamethasone at random because the effects last for only a week.we cannot give weekly doses of betamethasone.as it will produce lots of side effects .so we normally give when there is a threatened preterm labour in the form of pain.or when we plan to deliver prematurely due to some reason.the drug may start taking effect in 24 hours time, till when we try and post pone labour if possible

I have a small bump under my arm after I shaved my armpit. After 1-2 days I had a sharp pain in my breast. The pain in the breast comes and goes throughout the day. The pain is worse at night and less painful during the day. The bump under my arm was gone after 2-3 days.
It has been 2 weeks now. I don't feel any lump in breast. Had an Ultrasound and nothing showed up. Have a little pain in the nipple.I don't have any rash.My breast not swallen.
Do you know what might be the problem? do you think this can be inflamatory breast cancer?

I am 18 and quiet a sporty person and a period for me is just a waste of time, and a pain that I don't need,as i NEVER want to or will get pregnant. I tend to get mine irregularly which I believe is due to being very active at some times. But I wish these times when I don't have my period(so far lasting between months and around a year) would last forever, I find them great, though I know this isn't really a good sign, and isn't healthy. But I always eventually get my period back when I aren't doing as much exercise.
I am fully set on adopting no matter what; I believe there are too many people in need of help in the world, and far too many people in the world anyway, and i'm sure i NEVER want to be pregnant.
So, all I want to know is, is there a safe way to never get your period if you are 1OO% sure that you NEVER want to be pregnant?

You can take low dose oral contraceptive pills not for the purpose of avoiding pregnancy but to get periods as you want.they can be taken for 3 months continuosly and stop.you will bleed for a day or two and restart the pills for 3 months .this way you will get periods 4 times in year and just two days each time with not much pain.but it cannot be taken unsupervised,you have to be monitored by a doctor every three months.for a person who is active this does not cause any problem.if you want to become pregnant anytime after your marriage due to change of circumstances you can .never take decisions without thinking of the future.things will always change.mind and opinion change with time ,age and circumstances

Nuva ring should be put only after making sure that you are not pregnant (soon after periods)kindly specify the dates instead if saying Wednesday because I wont know which wed you mean.if you are pregnant and do not want it ,abortions can be done by pills if is less than 7 weeks and surgically if it is more than 7 weeks

You should have an ultrasound scan done to know whether the abortion is complete.
There is a 10% chance for incomplete abortion in medical abortion.even if you have small bits remaining inside you will have irregular ,unpredictable bleeding in which case you should udergo a surgical abortion.after an abortion regular periods will resume in a months time if you had regular periods before.some people do conceive immediately and you should use contraception.if you have become pregnant again and want to continue you can.if there is failure of the previous pregnancy to abort and if that continues you should have a surgical abortion

With one missed abortion you need not undergo all these tests.you have given the values,but they can vary from lab to lab.are these values more than the reference values of you lab.even then I don’t think it is necessary to take the above injection .we normally prescribe it only for people with more than 3 abortions and if these values are high.if your 12 weeks scan is normal you can definitely continue the pregnancy

Putting on weight may be because of contraceptive pills.it could also because of overeating,consuming high calorie foods and lack of exercise.it is common to have less bleeding during the usage of contraceptive pills.the pills do not cause hormonal problems.they may in fact correct it .the person taking pills should go for check up of weight ,BP, and breasts every 3 months.if there increase in weight unusually or increase in BP,or any swelling felt in the breasts the pills should be stopped.

I am 26 yrs old, and was detected with Thyroid problem 2 yrs back. My TSH levels had gone up to 12(initially when it was detected it was 5.6). I was taking homeopathy for sometime, and later I had to take registrone tablets for delaying my cycles. After that, my TSH levels shot up to 15. Now, I am taking Electroxin regularly. But still, my cycles are not normal. I have to take registron tablets, then only they are normal. If I stop the tablets, my cycle goes irruegular again(Last cycle date was in november). If your thyroid problem is corrected and you are taking tabltes regularly,there should be other reasons for irregular periods.you can take regesterone tablets to get your bleeding.

DUring the time of delivery , i had a severa pain in my anal hole.
Later , after 2 years of pregnancy, still iam having that pain. WHen i work for many hours standing in kitchen , i get this pain. I see a small flesh coming out of anal hole. But when i do an exercise of contracting and expanding my anal hole for sometime, this flesh goes inside and it relieves the pain.

Hello doctor.. I've got copper T inserted after 4 months of my delivery. That was in the last week of April. I delivered in the month of December last year. I've had spotting since then and it is still continuing. Not only spotting but my periods is also very irregular. Sometimes it comes right after 28 days, otherwise there is just 15 days gap between my periods. Also before there is spotting i get lower abdomen pain which is similar to the pain when there is regular periods.. (Cramps like pain). The white discharge also has increased eversince the copper T was inserted. But there is no foul smell during the white discharge. Would this spotting continue, doctor?? Is this condition normal or should I get it checked with my gynaec? After every period I do check the status of the Copper T by feeling the thread. I can feel it.

I m 30 years old and i have a son of 2 years old.My mensus cycle is always regular.Every 28 days once i will have it and will have it for 5 days.For the past 6 months the cycle is regular but the flow is very low and on the third day (BY afternoon)it stops.after 2 or 3 days there will be some droplets(4 or 5 drops of blood).Is this a serious problem

rubella IGg is positive
immune to rubella
and lea ,leb antibodies in blood
