yeah bhavani good topic, sure there would lots of contestants this time.

But why should a blog be judged by the max no. of votes.... i personally feel it might not bring out the BEST blog. Why not we have a panel of judges (3 or 4) and each of them coming with their selection of top 3 and then finalizing one out of it. Or it can atleast be like we take out the top 10 blogs from the voting and then leave to the panel of judges to choose one from them (so they neednt end up reviewing the entire blogs). This is my opinion. May be we can give the metrics to judges too (like factors to be considered - content, way of presentation etc...)

reason 1 - i want all moms to participate. i'll judge nu neraya peru escape aranga

reason 2 - voting is a way that you reach your friends and chennaimoms also reach your friends and family, so it helps in chennaimoms growth

reason 3 - result announcement is easier with voting - highest vote wins the prize, no questions asked. Otherwise, there should be committee to decide it, co-ordination between them and hence some complications.

 I am with anu....... the voting DOES NOT reflect the best blog....... i was just going through the blogs and saw that the blog with the max votes is an experience which all mothers go through, and the blog thats really different has just 5 or 6 votes.. so personally i feel voting is going to the person who has written it and not to the content.. my personal views admn, no offence meant to any person..

am offended .. , i think my blog has the highest votes.I wrote wht i experienced and if i had experienced something different, i wud ve written it differently ..

If money was the criteria i wud ve even won for sweet nothings .. my friends took foto contest seriously thts y we won.

i was always not behind money ... for ppl who know me .. will understand .

i keep fwding all my blogs to ma close friends and cant help if they vote for it .

Even if there was not a contest, i was to write this blog (my labor experience)soon or lil later .. but i wud ve def written it .

moms, this contest is based on votes as I've stated in the contest page.

I do conduct contest like valentine's day contest, treasure hunt contest and do give prizes. These contests are only for chennaimoms members who like the site and visit it often. This does not carry vote from outsiders and chennaimoms promotion is not involved.

I try and balance between both the voting and judging contests. All your suggestions are well taken and we'll defenitely have the judging contests in future as we have had in the past. I hope you will support me in this contest and spread the word about chennaimoms to your friends and family.

There are moms who post blogs even before the contest (like kg3 b4 i announced this contest) and moms who post blogs after the contest (like nirmalaw after the valentine's day contest). So moms are participating in the site irrespective of the contest. Please be a sport and encourage moms who have posted their blog for the first time, welcome new moms who joined the site just for voting. Our strength is to grow in number and to make new members come back to the site again and again.

And if you tell me that a blog that is worth the prize didn't get enough votes, it's bcoz we chennaimoms let it down! Chennaimoms members are 20,000+ and none of the blogs have got that much votes and I am sure no individual mom can get that much votes from their friends!

I think none of chennaimoms members participate in the contest for the prize money. They participate for the pleasure and pride to be a winner.

I hope all of you would understand that I had to conduct both voting and judging contest and please lend me your support for both the contests. Will you cmoms?

Hey Sangita.... and others who got offended / hurt by my opinion ---- I think my suggestion wasn’t conveyed in the right way (or may be I am not good at using the correct words / right sentences). It is not that the blogs which have got the highest votes weren’t / aren’t good (for that matter even in one of the months, one of my blogs got highest vote. But to be very honest, I felt that particular blog wasn’t the best and thought one of my other blog should have been selected rather. But unfortunately that another blog got only 3 votes :-(). Also to add, both the blog of yours (Feb, Mar) were good & deserved to be the BEST BLOG(s) of month.

What I / few others felt is that, just the voting alone might not bring out the best blog. Some times, we moms might not notice few of the good blogs. So the suggestion was to have another methodology too that would act over & above the voting system.

And yes, as you said & Nisha too said, hardly any moms would be behind Rs / $..... it doesnt matter at all before the enthu of making friends / sharing moments at chn moms.

Hi .. its lik u know am stuck to this site .. and wen ever am free .. i log in cmoms.Every night after (12) wen my daughter n hubs re sleeping .. i try to relax by reading all th blogs. n questions .. so at th end of th day everyone wants to hear gud bout themselves.. n yester wen i read the comments .. i was pissed , i thot twice before posting my comments .. but still wanted to reveal wht i felt.. wen i read th blog wid max votes .. tht made a difference.. Max .. was purely pin poniting me ..

Nisha wen i joined cmoms last year for funny foto contest .. i felt mine was very funny (nakshatra's looks).. but as i was new to th site .. i got few votes but still got consolation .. if u ve time pl look at th link . u ll agree wid me .. i felt dejected.. i dint ve th idea tht i can ask my friends to vote ... i know it hurts

 Hey Sangita... no offence meant to you personally gal... you know we all have liked your writing style and ur blogs, all of us have been eloquent about that... here i never meant to create a controversy, i just wanted to point out the fact to admn that the voting was not balanced.. thats all... what else would we all friends at cmoms have against you??? we are all friends gal, i was just defending someone else who is more deserving.. arent u on that friend's side too?? dont you want it balanced so that the most interesting (i mean most interesting read.. for all of us motherhood is unique and uncomparable, too precious for the prize money or anything else in this world) write-up/experience wins? I am sure you would also be agreeing with me on this issue.. dont you??

Please post your blogs under the contest page, not as individual blogs. After 2+ weeks it'll be very difficult for me to go through all the blogs to find out the blogs for the contest and check on their votes. Also in the contest page, it is easy for you all to forward the blogs to your friends unlike the blogs page. At the end of the contest, i'll just run a query on the contest page alone to get the blog with highest votes.

If you have posted under the blog page, please copy-paste the blog under the contest page.

At the outset, would like to thank chennaimoms for such a blog and an opportunity to share our feelings, which nobody would like to listen or even address.

I am proud of being a mother for a four year Boy - Ashwin Subramanian on the eve of 30th May 2006 @ 5.50pm.

I had gestational diabetics and was admitted at Isabel Hospital on 10th May. Since then, I had to undergo routine instant (both fasting and pro) sugar tests twice / thrice daily and had to take Insulin injection 4 times daily at equal intervals.  

The system was to pinch my blood with a needle at the top of my fingers. I had this experience 10 times daily for more than four weeks and ofcourse my 10 fingers had become even numb cos of the pinch. Further had to inject the (pen type) insulin injection myself on my thighs.

Further at the start of 37th week, came to understand that the placenta was around the baby's forehead and instant ceaserin has to be done fore immediate recovery.

I was admitted for trips on 30th May Morning around 6.30 hrs and the doctor waited for normal delivery till 5.00pm. Apprently the day was a Tuesday and everybody prayers was not to have delivery on Raghu nearm. H'vr due to lack of fluid, had to go for Ceasarine and I gave birth at 5.50pm.

At the operation theatre, the Ansthetia doctor was interacting with me to divert my concentration away from the opeartion and at the point of completion, he asked me which baby I was expecting. I told him that any gender is okay but still would like to have a boy.

He immediately announced that I had given brith to a boy baby and heard his "First CRY".

I felt Happy to the utmost core.

After a span of 10 secs or so, the assistants brought the child wrapped in a while cloth (before wash) near me and the doctor asked me to kiss the baby.

"At that instant, I was very much happy and kissed twice in my child's left chin."

That was a ever lasting time and then the assistants took him for wash and thereon to the baby room.

It was my life's wonderful moment and all my pains vanished in my warm tears.

Still today, my boy is 4, when I recollect these moments, my heart fills with joy and I remember the poem "The Daffodils" one of my favourite. It makes me and my feelings to fly up the in sky.
