Morning when I just went through the paper..(As usual just taking a glimpse).... Was so much excited... Immediately called hubby and shared the news with him... And he was like... "You are behaving like a kid... Who's just got her results out".......(Errr... Men never seem to understand).... Love you and all the Cmoms very much.... Hope Cmom goes a long way ahead with lots more to come....

    Playing the role of a mother in today’s world means donning many hats — that of a caretaker, a friend, philosopher, guide and most of all, the woman of the house. Not enough can be said about the difficulties moms face in juggling their child’s cricket practices, doctor’s appointments, ballet recitals and parent-teacher conferences. And if you’re a working mom, then god help you! But don’t worry, there are a few down-to-earth options to choose from too when you are at your wit’s end. Say hello to Chennai Moms, a oneof-a-kind website that is dedicated to making the life of a mother easy, breezy and way more stress free.

    Says Bhavani, the founder of the website, “When I came back from the United States, I found it extremely difficult to find a play school, paediatrician etc. for my kids. So I wanted to set up something of a social networking site for mothers, which helped them share their day to day experiences and get an insight into the lives of mothers, working or otherwise. This works as a great platform to facilitate exchanges, acts as a de facto medium of self-expression and extended support system. It’s a platform for mothers to form a community and support each other. At the end of the day, moms who care always have something to share!”

    The website has since then touched the lives of many mothers, who have found it to be a one-stopshop for all things related to kids. Sayee, a senior manager with an IT company and a regular user of the site says, “Initially, I was part of many other websites and forums but I found that the answers I was getting were not satisfactory. It was then that I chanced upon this website and have stuck to it ever since. This forum is great for me because the people are so friendly and are prompt in replying. Even if they don’t have answers, they put me on to someone who can help.” She goes on to add, that the blogging feature is her favourite and she posts notes and messages actively.

    Sharing similar views is stay-athome mom Supriya who says that the site has also helped her make friends and share her experiences with other moms who have similar lifestyles. Says she, “It’s a common misconception that homemakers have it easy as compared to working mothers; this is not true, because ours is a 24/7 job. The website acts as a forum for me to share my problems with other mothers who are in the same situation. It is like talking to a friend.”

    As a mother, it is normal to find every day a challenge, a struggle to balance the many roles as well as nurturing a child. There are days which are more trying than others, but with a little organisation and the click of a mouse, parenting just got easier!
