Tags : The pros and cons of a female President
Hi Cmoms,
I would like to start the discussion about "The pros and cons of a female President.".please open your heart and share your real opinion about this topic..
The president of India is the first citizen and is vested with powers to rule the country. Has anyone so far used these powers? pls see the link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/President_of_India
Other than DR.Abdul kalam has anyone ever made his/her presence in the seat remarkable? Dr. Kalam was the only president who met children, students, recognised them as future citizens and inspired them. He was keen on watering the roots. When other men served as rubber stamps, enjoying the royal life the seat gave them, what is the point in discussing gender making gr8 differences in the president seat?
I was irritated by the way journals made fun of Dr.Kalam's initiatives in his period of service. Even the most respected journals like The hindu and ananda vikatan had cartoons joking on him reaching out to masses and flying in jet.
I think there is no much difference ,but what thamil says that is right , only DR.abdul kalam did many things for our nation in his period, i also wish to continue his service but that not happened. As well as he is inspiration to all.. but our current president Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil what she is doing i dont know anything ,i didnot hear any special news regarding her activity. Apart from Dr.Abdul Kalam,Dr.Naranyanan also some what good but other presidents not in our mind.
We do not have a people-elected prez in our country. In any case, the President here is only a what we call 'rubber-stamp' president. So doesnt make any difference if its a male or female.
Even our Bharat Ratna, ISRO scientist couldnt do much as a president, what can be expected from others ?
