Angadi Theru Movie Review

Hi,

Yesterday I saw Angadi Theru movie ,so i would like to share my review about this movie.

Films based on real life stories of people mostly never misses a place in viewers' mind. And converting a real life story into a screenplay of three hours is the most challenging task for a director. Previously director Balaji Sakthivel proved in kaadhal. Now it is Vasantha Balan who already proved himself in Veyil. And now once again in Angadi Theru. And this is not a real life story that happened in a single man's life. A good imaginative story well stuffed in a real life platform and well served too. But none of the scenes make us feel imaginative. No one can feel like sitting in a theatre. All the characters are well known to us, the one who we see regularly in the so called Market Street. We would have seen many a characters like them when we go for shopping in the same place but no one would have even imagined that there is a life, a horrible life beyond the screen as shown in this film. The story mainly focusses on the life of the sales people working in a textiles show room, the difficulties they face in their life there, the tortures they are having and moreover the reason why they are still there even with such tortures. And in the mean time the director has sketched a realistic love story in the same story line.

As per the story, the hero is from a village near Thirunelveli and he studies well and scores school first in plus 2 and the day of his result his father dies in a train accident. His family totally down economically. At the same time a big textile showroom from chennai ranganathan street goes there to recruit people and the hero decided to go for that job withering off his engineering dream. He comes to chennai along with his friend to that shop for work along with lot of other selected workers. There the story moves in the shop where they give lot of tortures for the workers and treated like slave by the owner and supervisor. There the heroine is already working. As usual hero heroine intro modhalil aarambithu kaaadhalil mudiyum nilai. And their love is depicted totally different. They have to bear the unbearable tortures from their employer side because of their family situation. At one stage due to limitless torture, the hero loses his temper and starts to attack the supervisor and the owner decides to file a false complaint that he has stolen a costly sarree. Then he is arrested and somehow released and then both the hero and heroine comes out of the shop and decides to do a platform sale business in the same street. But unfortunately they are trapped in an road accident and the heroine loses both her legs. The hero without losing his love decides to marry her and they both start to lead their life in the same street by selling platform items. The story ends with a peaceful climax.

All the characters are perfectly fitting into the story and most of the scenes are taken to depict the real happening in the same street and the director have succeeded in that. And sure the screenplay will bring out maximum tears and emotions from the viewers. To tell a scene in particular, the supervisor giving a red room treatment for workers not obeying his words. And workers should finish their lunch within 30 minutes where the mess will be 3 streets away from the shop. And a girl committing suicide in the same shop all may remind us the real news we read few days before. The director has tried to portray what is happening there in his screenplay and succeeded also. And the heroine leads the hero in her acting skill may be she is experienced than the hero. She definitely deserves the pride. She has lived in the film as a real sales girl working under extreme pressure without any other go. And the supervisor character is portrayed as arrogant as possible to bring out the extreme nature of the working environment there. Especially when he ill-treats the lady workers without any ethics. And a special character is designed to depict the behindness of the platform sale in the same street. A man getting all old clothes, washing and ironing them neatly and then packing it and selling as new ones in platform. Really realistic. Songs are shared by GV Prakash and Vijay Antony. Aval appadi ondrum azhagillai and Un perai sollum podhe, both these songs stand at the top. And back ground score by vijay antony has added up well to bring out realism and emotions in scenes. And the friend character of hero played by kana kaanum kaazhangal fame pandi is used well for entertainment purpose for audience.

Few people who are week hearted may feel a little more or over emotional in few areas. But on the whole Vasantha Balan has done an excellent job in bringing out the part of real world which we might have seen or heard but never noted or felt and has delivered it in the right way to the people through his unique and intersting screenplay. On the whole, a film worth to watch and deserve applauds. A worthable effort succceded commercially too.
