We had been engaged since April by then. We both were in different cities. We started calling once every week to start off and then slowly it progressed to much frequent and longer duration calls. Then he told one day, that the following weekend he was coming to meet me. I was excited. Had hardly seen him in person more than twice, once during the group sight seeing (ponnu paakardudaan) and then during the engagement. He called the day before and said, I will come home, pick you up and we can go out…

It was a rainy day in the mid August month in the cool green city… I waited from the morning. Though he was going to come only towards the evening.. He was driving all along…
Dressed up in a beautiful white salwar for he had told me his favorite color was white… J My whole self felt as though I had been in love for ages. My skin was glowing like the bright summer stars… My eyes twinkled round in anticipation. For the moments to meet him.. to be with him for sometime… Yes for the moments of being together.. To understand each other… to be lost in each other’s eyes.. We both were poetic too… (sorry for the poetic rendering of this tale).
We wanted to be lost in ourselves.. and enjoy and discuss how we wanted our life to shape… We were waiting to see each other and finally that was the day…
The Calling bell rang and its shrill tore me back to my senses. I ran down the steps with my feet trembling like a deer. I opened the door, and there he stood…For a moment I imagined him to be a Knight J Just as I thought he was my Prince Charming, he just held out his hand and clasped mine and said, at last we meet !
He said, “You look beautiful!” more than what I remembered J You can imagine how much I would have blushed :D. He said he would come in when we return and if I am fine we could leave then. He drove me to the beach not speaking much along the way, except for some old hindi songs playing in the audio system in the car.. (geez.. he remembered I loved Old hindi songs). When we reached the sands, we could see the evening sun shining and reflecting the dazzling light, playing medley with the raindrops.. He said, “If you don’t mind getting wet, may be we could just have a walk on the shore :D” Now.. did he expect a No from Me? He didn’t look so.. Nor was I going to say NO…
Wonder how he figured out the less crowded spot on the beach! We sat down and watching the ships sailing far across the horizon and started talking.. our voices were down to whispers.. wonder why! From the general how is your mom, how about your sisters.. and your brother.. kind of talk, we even progressed to say those sweet nothings as if such time would never come again! We just lost the track of time.. Suddenly the smell of the sundal and fried fish on the beach reminded us that it was close to 8 in the evening and we didn’t even have anything since 4.. (Not even a cup of coffee or icecream).. What kind of a meeting was that…!
We got up, and he caught my hand.. and we decided to walk up to the beach restaurant… There was some event that day, and there was some live band performing and the restaurant was hosting a Candle Light dinner Concept that night. He whispered that he knew that this event was going on here and that’s why he brought me there… I was speechless thinking how much he had thought about this day! We ordered food and while eating and looking into each others eyes, holding hands every now and then! We started loosing ourselves into some silly flash dreams and he asked me if I wanted to dance with him… I knew I had two left feet when it came to dancing and he said, “and did you think I had two right feet? We are just going to have some fun with the music.. comeon..” I gave in and we danced. I did realize we were both not that bad dancers thanks to some dance performances in our college days!
By the time the music got over, we realized how much we were in love already… We decided to leave and started walking out of the restaurant… But then no day could be so perfect right? I had my own comical moment... I skidded on the stairs as we were getting towards the parking lot and I fell down.. And when I opened my eyes, I found myself lying flat on my bedroom floor, just beside the huge high raised bed of mine..
Phew.. that was our first meeting.. And it was all a dream… And the clock showed it was just 4 am… Oh dear.. I had 12 more hours to go!..I could see myself all red in the mirror… Of course he came in the evening in real and took me out… We did go to the beach.. But there was no restaurant with candlelight music party :D.. and when I explained the bump on my head to him.. you could imagine the way he laughed and laughed and laughed.. He didn’t stop for almost half an hour! And this time my face became red for the obvious reason... He still loves my poetic imaginations and still laughs when he recalls my dream…
There we go... That was our first meeting… in my dream! Me, the Princess; with my Prince in our Moments of Togetherness…
