What do parents expect from school? academics,co curricular,extra curricular and even personality development??? Then what is the role of parents? earning money to put the kid into a school where all these are taken care of?

Education basically needs dedication from the part of the students!!! This independence day if you all have seen the curtain raiser show of surya's vidhai which brought tears in all the viewers,clearly sent one message- padikkara paiyyan eppadi erundalum padippan,enga erundalum padippan"

most of the students who were sponsored education were from downtroden families,had no facility to study,not even an electric lamp!!! some had no family!! one kid after becoming school topper in std 10,went to bangalore to work as a construction worker.discontinued studies for two full years and came back to crack medical cut off with amazing numbers. he had no family,is a tribal kid and lived in a below standard condition. Every kid sponsored by the vidhai foundation had such a story to tell.

As parents we need to inculcate the thirst for knowledge,be role models to show how kids shd be dedicated and disciplined. we need to ignite  that spark for the child to grow and excel-show a path,be jus a guide in his way...the rest the kid is capable of taking care.this has been proved by so many around us.

As for as My kid(studying in LKG) is concerned she does very less work at home and I dont teach her much also except the descipline.she has been thought in her school and I was instructed not to teach at home by her class teacher

However much the school does, I think the parents also have to put in their effort. I don't send my son to any tuition but I teach him at home. He may have understood many things about a subject at school but there may be still some doubts. So I clear that. When I myself don't know, I check the net and show him some diagrams to get a clear picture. There are lot of grammar tutorials on the net which I show him and we solve it together.

There was one chapter about Jehangir being a Just Emperor. I asked him does he know the meaning of 'just' so I spent one day just making him understand that.

I read an article about how the quality of education is so good in Singapore. Even though in lower classes, they don't bring in too much studies but they emphasize more on getting the concepts right.

Dear friends... I think u have not read and understood what I have said... I am not here to hurt children who dont have facility to study first and foremost the basic human rule is what we dont have only we thirst for....(this is on general study not based on few exceptions) a short man would love to be tall a fat man/woman would love to be slim...a rich wud love to go by cycle and a man going on cycle wud love to travel by car... this is general human tendency...

I was not talking abt school teaching lessons properly and parents go earn money... I was talking about what a institutions should teach children as every child spend more time in school than home... a teacher should be considered as GURU.. they lay the foundation for a childs future... parents are parents and they should do their work ....FEW OF U MIGHT HAVE SOFT OBEDIENT CHILDREN BUT THE REST OF THEM WHO HAVE PROBLEMS WITH CHILDREN ARE THE ONES I WAS ADDRESSING TO...

Nowadays its become a fashion for schools to take children only if they score above a certain percentage...PLS ANSWER IF A CHILD IS SCORING ABOVE 70% AND DOING WELL WHAT IS THE SCHOOL OR TEACHER FOR???? A TEACHER'S ABILITY IS SHOWN WHEN THEY MAKE A 30% SCORING CHILD TO IMPROVE AND SCORE ABOVE THAT...SO I TAKE THE LIBERTY I N SAYING PLS DONT TALK ABOUT SCHOOLS TEACHING THE CHILDREN WHAT A INSTITUTION IS SUPPOSED TO DO.... THE WHOLE NATION DOES'NT SUPPORT THIS SYSTEM OF EDUCATION...
