Well done Gals.. Am really sorry I couldnt be there. Infact being the one who brought up Natesan Park for suggestion, I was looking forward to it all the while. Infact it was a decision that I woulnt make which I thought I could reverse till the last moment. My son Akshat, was having fever for the past three days and I was hoping he would settle down atleast by Friday. Infact it got worse Friday Night with him not able to hold down medicines too with continuous vomiting and we had to take him to our doc again on sat morning. Ofcourse Doc gave him a nice little pep talk and explained what will happen if he wouldnt cooperate and all other nice things if he would :)

He was totally drowsy through out the day and wouldnt even open his eyes and my husband had an important meeting scheduled suddenly.. All good reasons for me to miss our meet. Infact my son woke up in middle and asked mummy shall we go? Now.. that was a question, I wish i were able to answer Yes. :)

He is ok now. He is recovered a lot. and has started to fight with me over Chota Beem ...

:) Good to know that you guys had good fun. Thanks Nilu for following up with me on Friday and giving me that call on sat night.. Am glad Umar enjoyed as did the other kids.

Am sure others who couldnt make it too would have some reason which is impossible to put away.. But ofcourse like the usual hopefuls, we look forward to the next get-together. Good to know of your organizing skills Hasina.. :) And kudos to all the moms who made it to the fun...

   Wishing a speedy recovery for your son... It is really sad to know that. I was asking Bhavani about you and she told me that your son is not well... And as u said , you were the one who suggested the park  ...

Wow SSB..that was brilliant..can see why u lost those bets..but i agree with u..i went with mixed feelings alongwith a 17-yr old who was meeting up with a friend n kept ribbing me the whole way..she thinks its hilarious..not yet told the husband who has been out of town fr the past two months..but it was very enjoyable once we all relaxed n realised nobody was there to judge but just to vent n get answers..i being the senior most out there with the oldest kid n years of experience offered words of wisdom..ha ha..can see the smiles..Hasina did a brilliant job with the games n the placard n the sashes fr Gayatri n i..just that we were too comfortable to move once we'd parked our backsides..Bhavani was the perfect hostess with the charming smile..n the kids had a blast..from Sumaya to cutie 5 month old Kritika who did not even whimper once inspite of all the mosquites feasting on us all..till the next meet, cheers to all - Rosanna

we 8 moms had a nice time. Infact, i was the last to reach though i planned to reach early, but...... unfortunatly i landed in some wrong park first . Then also i enjoyed 

meeting up with new friends bhavani, hasina,radhika,gaythari,nilofer,rosana n sayani,

with the kids sumaya (hasinas daughter elder in the group) Nilofers son, ssb's daughter

n my kid.I had been to the park after a long time, it reminde me our collegue days when

we used to sit in park n chat with friends,

The old days have come back again for this thanks........ to BHAVANI , she is the person

who made it possible. Bhavani we r ready for the next meet up n also c.moms please try

to join us next time.

HI MOMS,

                    I`ve been thinking abt the meet up ever since it happened. hubby is bugged with all the news. Though I was disappointed with the weak strength in the beginning , I was happy about the enjoyable experience finally. I was all geared up to play the games organised but could only do with one.The game -DOG AND THE BONE - was abandoned as I dnt have enough participants( needed more dogs as sabreena noticed- I had the bone though).

                    We ended up playing the proverb game where each were given a slip of paper with half  the proverb written on it. After they hear the whistle( I had borrowed my daughter`s ) they were supposed to find their partners who had the rest of the proverb. It was of short duration but lotsa fun. I finally moved their butts! dear ROSANNA was v reluctant to do so (she was the oldest of moms there but looked the youngest--seriously!)

                       SAI was nonstop jabber( she actually reminded me of someone i know but cant place her). RADHIKA was sweet,friendly but quiet. NILOFER was excited but preoccupied b`cos of her naughty son( v cute and sweet) and active.SABREENA  was cool and collected as she had a caretaker along with her. she had brought cakes(good thinking),and GAYATRI  was interactive  too(v encouraging as she made it to the meet up after her tiring trip).

I thoroughly enjoyed SAI`S dancing episodes(it brings a smile bk to my face even now).

and ROSAANA is inspiring with her petite and trim figure!

and at last but not the least BHAVANI was a wonderful organizer.she was patient, cool and thoughtful. A GOOD EFFORT.

                                    3 CHEERS TO US-   -HIP HIP HURRAY!

Yup!... The meet - up was really sucessful.... Had a wonderful evening....  When I reached Natesan park... Bhavani, Hasina & Radhika were already present.... Hasina had taken the effort to get a placard of C.Moms!....Later on Sayee joined in along with her daughter Nandhu... followed by Rosanna. Sabreena came along with her cute daughter Krithhika.... And of course Gayatri joined in too.... Initially I was a bit nervous about the get- together.... As I do not know Tamil & was a bit reluctant thinking that what if the whole lot starts speaking in Tamil then I'd be the odd one out....  But to my relief... Nothing of that sort happened... Infact.... I got to know that I had company since Rosanna & Sabreena too didn't knew the language. Hehehe... Umar (my son) had a great time running around and spending a lavish time (You know how boys are?) We had a small intro round after which we exchanged numbers... Spoke about various topics ,,, Had snacks... Cold drinks....  Hey! I actually didn't get anything.... But for the next time... I'll definitely make it

Hasina had organised some games... But due to lack of time we somehow managed to play one...  And she had made some Chennai moms winner sheets.... It was really very considerate on her part... And her daughter Sumaya was really the angel of the event... Asisiting her mom and taking care of the lil ones... You truely desrve an applause dear Sumaya...We later had some photo sessions.... And then left at around 6 :20...  I am happy to have made such sweet friends in a short span of time.... All thanks to chennaimoms.com....  Hey Sayee ... Plz... do mail me all the pics you have    Thanks Bhavani for organizing such a wonderful get-together..... Hope to have more of them coming in...... And expect to meet many more new moms this time....

I guess all the gals who made it to the event did give in an overview about what happened….and now its my turn

This meet up ranked first in my priority list and so didn’t want to miss it …..I was out of town all through last week and had reached Chennai when the sun was still asleep that eventful Saturday. With a wedding, a reception and loads of work lined up on Saturday I was wondering if my priority will be defeated by the external forces that play a major part in womanhood.

Half my battle was won when I left from home to the destination ‘Natesan Park’. My driver planned to surprise me with a tour around all the parks in Tnagar and luckily  Natesan park was the second on his list and I owe my VIP entry ( yeah! late by a good 45 minutes ) to my charioteer.

My eyes scanned the park for a crowd and it fell on a few gals. Oh yes my search ended and I found the familiar faces of Bhavani and Hasina greeting me with glorious grins and vivacious waves. Wait ! I see a few other beaming faces….I rushed towards the lot ….to rediscover….

Introductions led to many revelations….

Bhavani : Several phone calls and one meeting old we gelled like old school pals. Gals if you think being the founder of this oh-so-talked about site she is going to be unapproachable …you are definitely wrong…. Your apprehensions will rest in peace the minute you set your eyes on her

Hasina : If tranquility had a name for a synonym it would be jus this. She would crack the most hilarious joke with such composure and enjoy the proceedings. I guess she is the mom who has contributed most to the meet up. Right from the placard to the games and winning sashes she did it all ...can't forget the interesting topic she repeatedly brought in ( Discussion 2) …of course her darling daughter sumaya who helped her mother …wish I had a daughter like that

Nilofer : Cheerful and with a thirst to learn the basics of conversing in Tamil she was accompanied by her little Umer ( reminded me of my son who missed the meet as he was catching up all the sleep he missed on our week long trip) who kept her busy all through the event. Hey gal any questions you need to ask ur maid your answers are just a buzz away

Rosanna : We had to ask her what she did to stay this fit. She religiously walks. Now you have the solution gals and I guarantee the results. This gal initially thought she would be singled out ‘cause she had a teen child but then found out that this gang meant MOMS who wanted to have sometime for themselves….with no other segregation involved. What say buddy

Sayee Bhuvaneswari: Talkative ? YES ...she did a lot of talking and we had a lovely time listening to all the little incidents in her life. Her daughter Nandhu came along and just gave me another reason to wish I had a gal. She truly was an angel. She made us stand for a group photo and after several minutes of focusing clicked a snap ( I think) and then claimed herself to be a professional de-photographer ( yeah include that in the dictionary alrite )

Sabareena : Am a foodie and this gal brought the most yummy cake ….if it wasn’t for the basic decency level  I vowed before my conscience at the meet I would have sunk my teeth into all those delicious cake pieces. May be next time you gals wouldn’t be this lucky and I will have be my true greedy self ( yeah I know the secret now …walk and thy fitness is assured ) Kirthika the Doll ….the third reason for me to wish for a gal…all of  5 months …the cutest and calmest baby…she fell asleep inspite of all the din the moms were making 

Radhika : The gal any boy would love to take home to amma.Yeah she is so silent. Maybe at the next meet we will have another side of this buddy out in the light and we might have to change our opinion hehehehehehe.

We clicked a few snaps to cherish these moments of first impressions and expressions.

When the clock struck a few minutes passed six…(the last time my clock worked that fast was when I met up with school friends at the reunion….) and the while then mosquitos were getting their get together formalized …with a feast of 8 moms and 4 kids in store …. we alerted ourselves that we are bound to get back to the normal routine yet again…..

The meet was truly a treat…the tasty filling that was sandwiched between my fully scheduled day….

So shall we have the next meet up on march 8th - the women's day and is a sunday this time. Might be sunday morning instead of sunday evening... As many moms suggested, we can try to have one meet up every month - say the first sat/sun of the month....

Hey Yes Bhavani..  sad I missed this one... but being a mom, it was more imp that my son had to be taken care of that day.. :)

But wait.. March 8th.. Thats wonderful.. Pray to God everyone else along with me will make it this time.. and First Sat/Sun is always better..  and I am booked the second sat of every month with our Colony Ladies Meet. .. Now am looking forward to March 8th.. We, the women.. shall meet if all agree.. Lets hope so..

Bhavani said in that meet up blog that she would arrange pick up and drop to Arumbakkam staying moms, so i  suggested in the same vehicle just take left cut go straight then one U turn  , there u have  my place and pick me up , from there another right cut , go straight about turn and take u turn and pick up gayathri.. . but thala didnt even sent one vehicle not even acycle.  Now guess who has to punish whom!! me and gayathri are upset about this   venda........ aaludiduven
