This generation children have only two hobbies watching TV or playing games. But when we I was a kid I had so many hobbies like collecting stamps, coins, stickers, keychains, stones, gardening, calligraphy, drawing, painting, Gardening. The list goes on and on.
In Summer holidays we used to go to relatives houses and friends houses and used to spend time. But This generation kids most of the parents are in nuclear families and How did you spend your summer holidays ? If we ask answer will be summer camps, hobby classes etc.......................................................
But As a Mom I feel we should encourage our children in having few good hobbies.
Garden does not mean a big huge one. It means the child will grow with the nature. Learn's through the nature. All it needs it a few pots and mud and few seeds which are at home or you can buy plants or share it from your friends who are willing to give.
Everyday spend 10mins watering the plants. It will even teach the child how to care and how a plant grows and how to be sensitive with the nature. There are so many kinds of plant's in nature which we can never realise.
If Moms are working I know it is very difficult but you can try and see a change in your child and yourself.
This passion will make you go crazy in few days. Bcos you will start looking for new plants and within a year you will have so many pots and you will feel why did I read this blog.

I completely agree with u nanda 
... When we were kids all time we used to do somthing or the other... Jumping 
,running 
and danceing etc all the time playing outside in mud etc... spending time with friends . When it come to studies we use to study.
Now it is completely opposite 
. I saw many not many all most all kids now addicted to TV especially cartoon. Parents are not allowing kids to go out and play(atleast for half an hour).On top of that no play ground to play in school also... No excersise nothing. Now a day food is also not good evrything is hybride.
Is this life style is okay for kids??? what do u think moms.
Plantation is a good habbit we will be happy to see when it gives us flowers... Still I remember when i was in 4th class me and my sis planted hibiscus... we use to pour water everyday... one day morning we saw the flower we both literally jumped and we were soooo happy 
. That feeling is diffrent i can say.
Now a days no space to garden :( :(... As u said nanda we can grow it in pots. Nice throught nanda.
Thank you shilpa. I'm a nature lover and I really care for a bird or a small plant or I just dream seeing the sky in the morning though I have to send hubby and kid early in the morning. I love the fresh air and I love the stars in the sky , The moon and the stars and the Sun are my best friends bcos they are always with me. No matter whether I'm happy or I'm sad.
So We as Parents should have the love to plants then our kids will also have a hobby.
Chintu waters the plants in the morning and he enjoys it bcos he can sing and water the plants. He will be singing Munni badnam hui darling tere liye 
If I go there
"Vakrathunda mahakaya koti surya samaprabha nirvighnam kurume deva sarva karyeshu sarvadha"
He will chant this shloka.
