I am excited to finally announce the event I have been planning for a long time. SO here it is:

The Chennai Birth Network (CBN) is a group of individuals in Chennai who are passionate about informed pregnancy, natural childbirth and breastfeeding support. CBN aims to bring about awareness to pregnant women on the merits of evidence based care practice in maternity care.

Event Agenda

Movie Screening : “ The Business of Being Born”

After the delivery of her first child, actress Ricki Lake recruits filmmaker Abby Epstein to question the way American women have babies. The film interlaces intimate birth stories with surprising historical, political and scientific insights and shocking statistics about the current maternity care system. When director Epstein discovers she is pregnant during the making of the film, the journey becomes even more personal.

Should most births be viewed as a natural life process, or should every delivery be treated as a potentially catastrophic medical emergency?

Duration : 1hr and 27 min

The movie shows birth and is graphical in nature, so children and minors are not allowed.

hi,

I am new member in chennaimoms.com,my sister 2 month pregnant now,after i joined with chennaimoms.com only i know about chennai birth network -celebration of birth event on november 21st 2009 in chennai.

my sister would like to participate with chennai birth network- celebration of birth event.Is it ticket avilable now?shall we come directly or before we want to get ticket..only coples are allowed or anyone can come to this event?

Also i heard about that chennai birth network taking child birth classes/pregnancy classes for women.I want to know more details about this child birth classes..

celebration of birth event conducting once in a year or regularly conduct this celebration of birth event..let me know..

Where is chennai birth network ? chennai birth network in one place or it is avilable in anyother places of chennai?

one of friend 4 month pregnant now ,so i will tell to her about chennai birth network celebration of birth event .she is very interested but she cant able to come on 21st. so she planned to join with chennai birth network child birth classes.when will you start the classes? and how many hours?

Chennai Birth Network is a not for profit org where people from different walks of life participate. CHennai Birth Network is founded by me and we conduct awareness events and our is to improve birth options for women. CBN does not conduct classes but I do.
