I am sending snacks for my kid who is in LKG. Rarely I see her box with left overs.
I know that my daughter is poor eater. I used to wonder how I had to struggle to feed her at home but whatever I send to school she finishes. One day I asked her slowly. that day there were some left overs in the snack box. What happened Nivi, why you didnt like the snack today. You always finish you snack without leaving anything. I was astounded with the answer. She said today Kalaiarasan and Abhishek didnt like it. I was taken back. What!! She continued. Yes mom. They always like my snacks and I give them whatever I bring. Today they liked their murukku and cream biscuit more than my Honey corn flakes...I asked her did you get anything from them. She said "No ma..poor fellows. they would be hungry if I get food from them"
So all these days I was happy that she is eating something on her own but after hearing her story I felt bad at the same time I was proud that she cares about others
Kids I dont know how they learn to tell a reason for whatever we ask them....

It is always best to talk to them everyday. As soon as my daughter comes back from school I ask her the days happenings, what she had, if she had her snacks, if yes how many she had and how many she gave her classmates, the games she played and everything possible.
This puts me at ease, since I know what happens in school. She even tells me what colour dress her teacher was wearing that day.
Wow. So sweet of your daughter vinimom. But yes I agree that at the same time poor she that she dosent eat her or any one else's snacks. I think its something in girls. They are born with sweet and caring nature and sacrificing as well at the same time. Really sweet of her and I can understand your concern as well at the same time.

Vinimom , so sweet of her...but talk to her and tell that you also should eat and share one or two with others...or else u will not be able to play well , and do all acivities... I am sure your daughter will say imm. that no amma , I am able to play well and do all activites even without eating snacks...
try telling her that if this continues...sure u will get tired...or may be u can try saying : if u don't eat properly u will get worms , in ur stomach...that will bite u so u have to eat snacks...... something like this...and try to make her eat...
it's my opinion...may be this method is not correct... if u feel ok , just give a try...
Uthara , I was also the same mom like u , i used to ask my son daily what u did , and is ur lunch box is empty...
for first few months , even without me asking questions he used to tell each and every thing what happened throughout the day...
then that situation changed...i had to ask him questions say each question 2 or 3 times...only then he will answer...
Now the situation is , why u keep asking me ??? the same thing is happenning in school daily ...nothing new...
once he started to say this i stopped asking him ...will check his lunch box alone... but after few days , again he started to tell slowly.. few incident which happened in school...
So be preparred to face this situation ...if ur daughter is same like hoe she is now...then ur lucky...
