1.) Over salt in soups: Soup can taste terrible if salt dominates. If salt is drowning your soup, add a little sugar to counterbalance it.

2.) Over salt in Stew: If your stew tastes over salty. Peel and slice some potatoes and add it to stew. The potatoes will absorb the salt and the stew will be less salty.

Another quick fix is to add a few spoons of milk to the stew.

3.) Over salt in Vegetables: If the vegetables are steamed or stir-fried, and tastes more salty, you have to rinse the vegetables again and need to start cooking again.

4.) Over salt in non-veg: Add a little vinegar or lemon it will lighten the salty taste.

5.) Over Salt in Curry:

a.) If your curry tastes over salty peel 2 large raw potatoes cut ir and put it in your curry. It sucks up the extra salt. After 20 minutes take out the potatoes and serve.

b.) Boil and mash two potatos and mix it with the curry. This will thicken your curry and you can add some water now it will reduce the salt in your curry.

c.) Add some salt free tomato sauce to your curry.

d.) Take a raw mango cut into slices and add to the curry it will work like a potato and absorb salt from your curry. After 20 mins remove it out from your curry before serving.

e.) Cut two tomatoes into pieces and add to the curry to reduce the salt.

f.) Those who like the taste of curd can add some curd or fresh cream it will help to reduce the salt in the curry.

g.) Add one spoon of dry bread crumbs, it will reduce the salty taste in your curry.

h.) Add a cup of milk to the curry it reduces the salt as well as improves the taste of the curry.

i.) Take small quantity of hot boiled rice tie it in a cloth put it in the curry and remove after some time it will absorb extra salt and the curry tastes good.

j.) Add a cup of coconut milk to your curry it not only reduces the salt but adds good flavor and taste to your curry.

6.) Over salt in vegetables:  
a.) For non curry dry vegetables like cauliflower, mushroom, and paneer etc., you can add grated cheese which not only reduce the salt but also increases their taste.

b.) Slice some onions fry it in little oil and add the vegetable.

c.) Grate some coconut and add to the vegetable it reduces the salt as well as increases the taste.

You could also try a pinch of sugar.

u can try this too


- put a small ball of floor dough in a curry and put off that while serving. Excess salt will be absorb by that dough.
