Mine was a typical tranditonal arranged marriage.....so, there were no much scope for we speaking or going out together before marriage.
So, the first time when I saw my fiance was during the poonuparkum padalam only....I was ready with my sis...to have a quick and short thiruttu parvai of the guy before anyone could notice that we are seeing him...
at first sight.........both of us were shocked (my sis and myself
)......there was only one guy who looked young from the gang...but that guy was too small that he looked like one 12th std student???????
So, on the very first look itself we decided that this guy will not suit me and even before I came out for the ocassion I made up my mind like...iam not gng to marry this guy...its just a Iam coming in front of them as everyone have already come over here....
But, once their family and my family started interacting.....everybody was more convinced and it was almost like no one was ready to ask my opinion as the guy and his family seems to be really gud
....only me and my sis was not interested in the proposal....sometime latter when they left..my mom came and checked with me for my interest towards the alliance.
I said that everything is ok...except for the looks that he have...(patha romba chinna payanattam irrukku, so if both of us go every one will laught at us only)...I said this to my amma. She said me that all the external looks will fade away soon, but look at the heart he has got....that would stay forever..(these are word which again my sis said after our serious and lots of conversations..also considering that I do not have a father and my mom even after my marriage needs to take the responsibility of bringing up my sis
)...on hearing it madeup my mind for this lovely guy!!!!!!! who is as young as he is since the day I met him both physically and mentally...
This was how we started our life when we both met....then....within a day they confirmed that they was ok with me and was asking for engagement dates....Everything was like one dream...all things happend within 3 months....oct 15th was our engagement and Dec 9th was our marrige.
Before the engagement came his birthday...which was on 10th Oct, I called him twice, once in morning and once at nite, but both the time we did not speak, as he did not pickup the call on the day....(only he had handphone and I did not have during that time and I was working as a fresher...so very hesitant to call from office landline).
I was much disappointed as I was not able to wish him on the day....but did not express to anyone.
Then we both met once...for purchasing the saree for nalangu and grihapravasam....on that day...thought everyone would be accompanied by us...but to my surprise it was only we 2 who did the entrie shopping that day
...intially both of us were lil bit tensed but latter on we both got on well...for 2 sarees almost we spent the entrie day from 12 in the noon to 7 at nite...
we were speaking all that we could and it was a nice time which is very green even if look back that momemt now...since it was very late, he dropped me in my place and then gone back to his house.
After that meeting we got some what closer...so started talking daily...but when I say about how we talk ...everyone will laugh
at us becoz...I use to talk with him over phone wherein my entire family would be around me and similarly on the other side its his family. Also both of us did not know what to speak and they helped us out to develop our discussion day by day...
and the heights of this was my patti(ammavoda amma)...she was the person who would keep on saying me...hey pesudi guhannoda...he is very gud high(personally my patti likes me very much compared to my sis....so she had a special talk with the mappillai to take care of me well after the marriage...hence she insist me to talk with him
)
So, all this kuthu got over when the D day came...
From that my mom got a grown up son in the form my hubby (spl note: he calls my amma as amma only and my sis as akka only)....I thank the Lord for giving me a hubby like this and my amma for choosing a nice guy like this for me....
Wish that everyone should have a mappillai like him...that too(when their are no male heritants in the family)....through this blog Iam puting a "OOOOOOOOOOOO to my amma, younger sis and my hubby".
good narration raji...it was short and sweet to read...talking over the phone with ur family members around is the highlight...special OOOO to ur paati...:-)
