Nice idea. I was wondering if we can also have the kids participate and show their talent. small kids can do a fancy dress, bigger kids can sing, dance, whatever. what say?

And since its a new year celebration, lets all get on the dance floor. (i'm a terrible dancer, fyi)

Any day apart from dec 31st eve and jan 1st whole day is fine with me. Jan 1st is my elder son's bday, so i'll be with him.

If we go with tickets, we'll know the count for sure and we can take a hall in league club or any other hotels and lets celebrate.

Good start. We have more than a month to plan for new year...  So lets have a great plan and a fun execution !

we need to volunteer for couple of things..

1) Organizers - Deciding venue , food ,money ,transport etc

2) Event Management - to decide what is to be done , who does what , judges etc.. ( bhavani , nee thappikka mudiyathu..  ) 

Let us have 2-3 each in both categories ...

I am volunteering for "Organizers " ..heheh.

Anushisha was telling about some good resort - We can try that .. Make it a 1 day event .... please..

We can keep group dance ..hehehe ..you dont need to do a single and get noticed BADLY !!   We can decide the events and decide on the groups..

Ideally , the date should be Jan 9th -  Many people may travel for new year ( as it falls on a Friday) .. So we can keep it for 2 nd week of Jan ..

nice plan... i would like to join ... if it falls on sunday i guess it would be easy to make it for working moms....nice idea to hav somethin for kids... 

apart from  solo performances  any kind of group activity would be interesting for moms... something liek deal-a  no deal-a or something like kushboos jackpot ....

and finally the dance floor ... if we hav the option of choosing a big hall for dancing, we can give some space for children so that they will enjoy on their own

Let us all pour in ideas....if there are no events that I can associate myself to, then I would definitely like to volunteer for event management. 2nd week is a good option...I think many schools will have Mid term tests in Feb right?

I can volunteer for getting the tickets printed.But how do we sell them??

I suggested talent competition so that mothers who have been hidding their talents for years now would have great oppurtunity to come up and prove themself!!

group activities are good enough! but if its a game show then only a few would not be able to participate and i think we must make sure that every mom present on that day should forget herself and do something or the other. Everyone should feel special.

Kids are always welcom but this time i seriously want to be free, so planing to leave anju behind.

All of us interested in organising and helping our admin should officialy meet for a proper discussion once atleast.

So let us make a list here of those who are all ready to volunteer.

How about Vanilla Place....kids can have fun at the play gym and we can sit either outside or at the cafe. We can try and meet up on a Saturday so the place is also not that crowded. It is Rs 150 for unlimited hours at the play gym.

I am also okay but just remembered that there is a children's bazaar at Vanilla Place on the 28th between 3pm and 7pm. I am guessing that the outside lawn cum play area will be occupied for the stalls and may be crowded with a lot of kids too. Dont think this will serve the purpose for a good discussion. Change in location would be great.

But will step in for the next set of discussions :-) but remember we need a minimum count of 25-30 pple for any get togethers at resorts. Will not be cost effective otherwise

I would like to be a part of the Jan mega meet and also would like to be part of oraganising along with Sayee and all. I can help oranising venue and food etc and also can help in putting in place the events and timings of the Jan meet and circulate. I mean thats an idea.

28th is my Storytelling class, I guess it will go upto 3.30 at Nungambakkam. After that if you people are still meeting, i can come and join. As one of the moms suggested, Vanilla will be boked till 7, so just let a new place know. Try to make it little closer to Nungambakkam please.
