Ingredients:

6 large baking potatoes, cut into strips Oil for deep frying Salt

How to make french fries:

Cut the potatoes into strips of about 1/3 to 1/2-inch thickness and width

Soak potatoes in ice cold water for 1 hour at room temperature. Drain well; pat dry with paper towels.

Heat oil in deep fry

Place potato strips in a single layer in deep fry basket; fry in hot oil for about 4 minutes, or until golden brown and tender.

And the healthy way to go is....


just rub oil and salt on the cut potatoes and bake them until a golden brown. You could also microwave them for about 4-5 mins. Ofcourse it does not taste the same as the deep fried ones....but you can surely have them without the guilt factor

nice healthy tip kavi.. but i like to eat them no matter how it is made... and of course the deep fried ones are tastier than microwave cooked ones.. u know the bad things are always more attractive ...

 ok one more healthy one:


cut big potatoes in half, brush w oil n put pepper or jeera on top according to taste, bake 30 to 45 min in oven till u can put a fork or knife easily in. serve with dahi n dill sauce. ok u can add green chillis if tht sounds tooo blunt. even my son likes it a lot! 


british guys habe grated cheese instead of dahi sauce but tht is very fatty u even more boring taste and adds a lot of useless calories again frm fat.
