Immunization is a way to trigger your immune system to protect the human body against infectious diseases through vaccination and to prevent serious, life-threatening diseases.

Scheduled chart for child vaccination

Age Vaccine

1. At the time of Birth

§ BCG

§ 1st Dose - Oral Polio Vaccine

§ 1st Dose - Hepatitis B Vaccine

2. 6 weeks

§ 1st Dose – DPT

§ 1st Dose – Haemophilus Influenzae B Vaccine

§ 2nd Dose – Oral Polio Vaccine

§ 2nd Dose – Hepatitis B Vaccine

3. 10 weeks

· 2nd Dose – DPT

· 2nd Dose – Haemophilus Influenzae B Vaccine

· 3rd Dose - Oral Polio Vaccine

4. 14 weeks

· 3rd Dose – DPT

Some side effects child faces after vaccination

Not all the babies will have side effects after injecting, only few develop side effects such as pain at the side of the injected area and even fever. At the case of fever child can be given a ½ tablespoon of paracetamol syrup. After the measles injection some children can develop rashes.

There are few conditions in which the child should not be immunized

1. When they have high fever or cold

2. If it has some allergic reactions after eating egg or non vegetarian

3. If child is undergoing treatment for cancer

4. If baby is already taking any tablets which affects the immune

5. If he or she has any immunodeficiency diseases for (eg) HIV.
