Ingredients:
1 cup of aloo mash
¾ cup of cut macaroni
2 eggs
1 cup fresh bread crumbs
2 tbsp of thick fresh cream
¼ tsp of oregano powder
½ tsp of pepper or red chili powder as per taste
3-4 tsp of oil for greasing the rimmed thali
Salt to taste
2 tsp of loil
½ tsp of sesame seeds
½ tsp of red chilli powder optional
Preparation Method of Aloo Macaroni Squares
Boil the macaroni in salted water till soft. Drain out all the water and keep aside. Take a large mixing bowl and place the boiled macaroni. Add the aloo mash, bread crumbs, cream ,salt and the spices and mix with your fingers. Add only 2-3 tsp of water to form a stiff dough. In fact, if you are using eggs, you will not need the water.
You need to beat the eggs and add to the potato mash. Grease a rimed thali and spread the macaroni aloo mixture on the thali.
Place this thali in a steamer and steam the preparation for about 1-2 minutes. You can also use an oven to bake this dish. In that case, place the thali in the oven and bake in a preheated oven at 180 degree C for 12-15 minutes or until the top begins to took slightly brown.
Heat the oil for the tempering and add the sesame seeds and red chili powder. Allow the seeds to splutter for 5-6 seconds and then pour over the cooked aloo macaroni mixture. Allow this to cool to room temperature and then cut in to squares serve as a snack.
