Our's was a arranged cum love marriage .....Indeed I love him for ....what he was,what he is  and what he will be.

I knew that my parents were in search of a groom....they had registered in Sengundhar Mandram.
Every week Appa used to go to that place ,write names of the groom,come home ,check for matching horoscope.
Likewise screening went on for 2 months.

We used to receive calls from groom's family also for some enquiry.
To be frank...my hubby was the second person to come and see me.
The first groom who's horoscope matched with mine was working in Mumbai and was native of Salem.So one day(I believe it was in the month of April 2005) when I was hurrying to office,his sister and her husband came home to see me.They said that his brother would by next month and they would come again with the entire family to see me.But they never turned up.

After a month,my family checked with another horoscope and was discussing to call them.One day my friend and roommate in college..Reena...came to our house.She was doing her master's in VIT and had come down to chennai for her project.
It was Sunday (May 29 2005)...we both decided to meet some of our friends.
We decided to start after lunch...when I was getting ready, my younger sister told me....that I need not go as I was not well that time.
"Edhuku veyil la poi suthara....veetla irundhu rest edu...next week ponganu"
But we had already planned to meet by 4 pm...So I told Reena to leave..
Then I went to bed...It was around 3.30 ...suddenly we got a call from the groom's family.
This was the one whom my parents was discussing to call...what a coincidence (I am reminded of the song ...Innarku Innar endru ezhudhi vaithaney Devan andru).
My hubby's grandfather spoke...They said all stories ...from where they got my biodata and all..and confirmed that they would reach home between 6-6.30 pm the same day.
I was sleeping...I cud hear some voice...Velu seekiram ezhundhuru....mapillai veetla irundhu ponnu paka varanga..
I thought I was dreaming ...My sister after calling so many times came and gave me a slap on my back..
Ezhundhudi.....She had already chosen the saree...kept the jewels,flowers,makeupset,mehandi stickers everything ready...
Veetla keela irundha tenantsoda 2 ponunga ellaraiyum help ku kooptu irundha....enaku makeup poda.Appavachu aazhaga katalamnu... :D

As soon as I woke up...I was rushed to the bathroom...poi kulichitu vandha..she was having some bleach..applied on my face,hand,leg..I was shouting "Aiyo eriyudhu"
Some how finished all those make up and all..Meantime Amma had prepared kesari,vada,bajji and upma (I believe..en kanula katala ..Gurrrrrrrr)

I wore a silk saree -Mustard color with green border...Thalai niraya poo vechitu I was made to sit in front of AC...I used to sweat a lot...that too with so much of make up....akka vandhu thotu parthutey irundha enga foundation ellam kalajidumonu..They were sharp on time...6 0'clock..
Amma,Appa,chithi,chithappa went to receive them...
It was big patalam...Thatha,paati,MIL,Jai,Akka,Mama,2 kids,Anna,Anni and 1 kid (11 persons).
Eppadi andha maruthi van la ithana perum utkarndhutu vandhanganu theriyala...whenever I used to see that Dhanush movie..where he take Nayan's family to get a saree..I used tocomment on Jai..ippadi thaan neengalum ponnu paka vandheengalanu :D

Ivalo panadhuku appuram kooda I did not know his name,what is he,where he works for....I was blank...As soon as I heard their voice in the hall...I started to worry..Suppose namala pesa sonna edha pathi pesardhu..enaku onumey theriyala...Pesama irundhuta ...Iva romba nallavanu ninachida poranganu....so many que running in my mind.
And u all know the bad luck....1000 poi soliyachu 1 marriage pannanumnu...enga veetla they started...that time itself.
I was not allowed to wear specs....OMG...everyone was like ghost...edho oru rough figure..But I was able to distinguish atleast male and female.
I was called for after 20 mins...poi ellarukum namaskaram panitu...I sat in the mat...Then Jai's thatha was asking me so many questions...enga velai pakara,eppadi pova..adhu idhu...rapid fire round madhiri....I was like Ushhhhhhhhhhh.....podhum niruthunga.
There was 3 guys sitting together...Jai,his anna and his mama...so mapillai yaarnu kooda theriyala....
Amma asked me to go inside...after sometime..I heard Jai calling out my Chithi and said he wanted to talk...
So he came inside the room followed by my chithi....Chithi was standing at the entrance...and was showing signs as how to reply :D
He just asked the same que...I was like "Ivarku kadhu kekadho ...ippa thaana andha thatha idhellam ketar....marupadiyum ivar kekarey nu"
Now that he stood at a closer distance I was able to somewat see his face....He quickly handed over his visiting card...and asked for my number.
I replied...I need to check with my Chithi and will let u know..He said...Bye and left.

By the time, our intro was over...elders had decided the date for Engagement...It was on June 10 2005...hardly 10 days left....
I dunno when he had given his consent...they all had some snacks...My brother took some individual snaps of him...so as to send it to my elder sister as she was in London then.
Everyone blessed me by keeping Kunkum...and his paati commented.."Ponnu latchanama iruka :)..odambu thaan gunda iruku ...kalyanam aana sari aagidum..".But she never knew...after marriage innum gundagiduven nu..hehehe

They all bid gud bye....after all make up was washed away ...at night I happened to see the visiting card and got to know his name as Jaisankar Anbalagan and that he works as a Project Lead in Ready Test Go.

Two days passed by...I was bold enough to call him on 2 Jun 2005  and ask for whether he liked me or not...I rang him by evening 6.30 when I was on train ...He was also on his way home ..both our voices were not clear...so after getting down at my station..He called me again....spoke to 10 min as usual warnings...indha madhiri pesardhu ellam enga veetla othuka matanga..so call me only during office hours.

Two days after we meet @ Egmore church...where my Project Manager's marriage was held...He came to the wedding to pick me up and drop me in the station.From that day on he had become my driver.My office was at adayar....But I used to go to Egmore..from egmore,he picks me and used to drop me @ my office in Adayar...his office was in Mylapore.
Evening same things happened....some times if we start early we used to go to Marina/Besant Nagar Beach,Madhya kailash,Kabalishwar temple,hotels etc.
Our favorite and most visited places were Fruit Shop On Greams Road,Hotel Sangeetha and Hotchips.

Though we never spent much time over phone,we had chance to meet daily in person..there was lot of romance,fights,misunderstandings...yet that was a lovely period.
Our marriage was fixed on Aug 22 2005....we both printed our cards separately...but the card was same and had the same wordings....we went together to distribute it to some of my close friends....

Like wise our marriage love life started and it is continuing like Tom and jerry @ times....
