Hi Blrmoms,
I used to remember things, dates, numbers etc. Above that I am organized and so would put up a to-do list and follow it up! All this vanished the moment my kids came to this world.
On Tuesday there was onam celebration at my son's school and so he wanted to take flowers to school. Here goes the screen play!
Monday evening: I bought rose flowers and kept it in the fridge.
Tuesday morning 6 AM: Woke up, remembered to give the flowers to my son when he goes to school
Tue 7 AM: Packed snacks, lunch, woke up my son and got him ready to go to school.
Tue 8AM: Since our driver didn't come, I had to drop my son. So I asked him to get into the car.
Tue 8.15 AM: I crossed 2 signals only to remember that I forgot to give the flowers to him....
Its not compulsory to bring the flowers, but my son wished to take the flowers... If I turn back, he'll be late to school. So I searched for any flower shop on the way but cdnt find any. So dropped my son at the school and came back home. Since I had to go to work, I cdnt go back to the school and give the flowers alone...
In the evening when I went to pick up my son, I asked him if everyone brought flowers. He replied "You said you bought the flowers, but forgot to give it to me. Thats ok, it's not compulsory. So I shared some flowers that other kids bought and we celebrated onam!". Man, I felt really bad on hearing this. How could I be soooooooo forgetful
Do you have any such experience out of "Forgetfulness" ? Share it with all of us!

yes dear,
i also have the same problem now a days.. i get her ready for schooll and sometimes forget to hive her lunch bag.. and later i ll call my mom and tell her to pack a new box and give it to her since my moms house is nearby... and some times i forget her belt or tie or anything.. but i keep forgetting some or the other thing daily. i forget it even if it is kept just next to the uniform too..
and one day i forgot to put salt in the rice bath i prepared.. i came to know only after i had it for my lunch... i really felt bad and my kid was hungry for the whole afternoon.. she scolded me wen i went back.
This forgetfulness is increasing a lot day by day and i m really worried wat will happen at a much older age.... i might even forget who i am...
My story is almost similar to Shilpa's...morning times its ok...chak...chak...i'll do...& turn of the gas.Evngs...that too on holidays...i keep the milk on gas in the low flame...,come out sipping my tea...,sit with a news paper or magazine...!!! finished...when one ltr of milk comes down to 100/50 ml then only i'll remember ...( sometimes burnt also )
sometimes i'll keep the sambar on gas n the same story repeats...
once i forgot to keep the fork with noodles in my daughter's tiffin box...
So many times i forget to carry my cell while leaving for work...
@ Jyothi..
Same with me also... so many times i left my mobile at home... all my family ppl used to called... now thy are also habituated to that :) :)...
Now i brought new cell... now i m not forgetting... :)
Hi Everyone! This is my first comment in blrmoms and .... what a start.... Forgetfulness. Once I had kept chappathi dough in one tiffin box and chappathis in a similar box and packed off the dough box to my husband. Poor man! How embarassing it would have been.
in front of his friends.
Another time I was trying two different earrings in two ears and absentmindedly went out like that itself. Wonder how many people laughed at me that day.
Hi Chama...
Welcome to blrmoms...
Ha ha ha... :) :) :) dough box to ur hubby paapa..
hi chama,
welcome to u.... :)
tat chapati dough incident is really good yar.. and earring type, i also had faced a similar situation.. but not earings, slippers.... tat too wen i was in col... i had to go to tutions at 5 30 in the morning.. just went and wen i came out frm tutions, my friends noticed both my slippers were different.. and tat too of different colors.... after tat incident they would check my slippers everyday....
I dont have any such happenings ... for i dont forget anything for my baby or my husband ....
Hi Chama..welcome to blrmoms....
Even I forget my mobile at home almost every alternative days...
May be this is because of the multitasking we do...if u compare ur hubby's wth u...just recall..if they r watching TV they will be inside that TV only....if u call them 100 times they will not listen..because they can do one task at a time..but we tend to forget since if we r doing one work our mind will be thinking abt the next task.....
We may be organized but the pressure we take is more than a guy takes...which makes us to forget small things very often....
This multitasking thing is just to console myself....
I enjoyed reading this
Even I have an incident to share with you all.......................
I also tend to forget many things It is like short term memory losssssssssssssssssss
Hubby tells something in the morning I would have said yes I'll do it and once he goes If I recall also I will not remember.
So When chintu was in UKG during his final exams this happened.
I used to do revision for the next day. I prepared him for Numberwork exam without seeing the timetable assuming it is Numberwork on the second day. So everything was fine after he came back.
me:Chintu how did you do?
chintu: yes ma I wrote everything it was easy.
After lunch My hubby called up to speak to chintu.
me : Chintu is fine he has done numberwork paper very well.
I called chintu and he spoke to his dad.
hubby: How was the day?
chintu: It was good . I wrote all the kannada alphabets neatly. It was very easy.
me: I was staring at chintu
Hey it was number work why did you write kannada.......
Hubby: Give the phone to your mom.
Chintu: ok dad cu bbye
Hubby:What is this how can you forget such things
.
Me: Verified with the timetable It was kannada.I felt so bad
.
From that day whenever chintu has exams I crosscheck the timetable as many times as possible.
Like Aamirkhan in Ghajini I write on a postit and stick the things to be remembered in the kitchen so that atleast I can see and remember.
Even I forget to place spoons in my hubbys and son's lunch bags.
Mornings are really too hectic.Until they both go.
