A 16 lecture and discussion course on Indian art and aesthetics to the public. The course will be on the fundamentals of Indian Art â€“ Hindu, Jain and Buddhism from Harappa to the 17th century. The course would cover a wide range of topics which includes the development of the Buddhist image, the development of Buddhist art in South Asia, the development of the Hindu temple, iconography and the philosophy behind Indian art. A course on Islamic art will follow the course by Dr. Ramaa Narayanan, and other guest lecturers.
