The First International Women's Day

The International Women’s Day was transferred to 8th March from 19th March on 1913 and this day has remained the global date for International Women’s Day ever since.

During International Women's Year in 1975, IWD was given official recognition by the United Nations and was taken up by many governments.

Healthy Food for Women: "Stuffed Crispy Bread Balls"

This recipe is a healthy cum tasty recipe on behalf of women’s day. You can also try this in home. This recipe contains potatoes, green peas, carrots and bread. Potatoes contains good source of vitamins and is rich in vitamin C which is helpful for our bone development and prevent females from osteoporosis. Green peas are rich in folic acid which is essential for women and it also have several nutrients like riboflavin, thiamine, Vitamin B6, Vitamin B3 etc which protect cells and keeps you energetic and carrot is a good source of vitamin A, bread contains dietary fiber. So try this recipe. Eat healthy and live healthy.

For Stuffing

  1. Slice carrot and boil with green peas keep aside.
  2. Boil potatoes and mash them well.
  3. Heat 2 tsb of oil in a pan add mustard and cumin seeds.
  4. Add Onions and stir it when the onions turn golden brown add the mashed potatoes and boiled carrot and green peas.
  5. Now add Green chillies, coriander power, garam masala, chilly powder, turmeric powder and salt to it.
  6. Cook for few minutes and add coriander leaves.
  7. Remove from fire and allow it to cool.

For Stuffed Crispy Bread Balls

  1. Now make small round balls from the masala.
  2. Take some water in a bowl.
  3. Take a bread slice and dip it in water for a second and immediately squeeze the extra water with your hand...more
