About which type of thyroid you are talking about is it hyper or hypothyroidism during pregnancy. If you are pregnant and think that you may be suffering from hyperthyroidism, then it essential to seek appropriate treatment.
Whether you have hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism, it is important to have your thyroid levels regularly monitored throughout your pregnancy.Special care must be taken whenever a woman is pregnant but the treatment of hypothyroidism must be straight forward.
I have a thyroid problem and 3 months pregnant now. I am actually under thyroid medication.. I am taking thyronorm 25mg every morning empty stomach.. for the past 3 months.. Dont worry, the doctors will let you know which medicines you need to take.. have a regular check on the thyroid levels.. There are not many home remedies which you can try at this point of time.
Ensure your medication is properly absorbed by taking it on an empty stomach at least four hours apart from prenatal vitamins. Take either the medication or the prenatal vitamin in the morning and the other before bed.
Fleshy and greasy foods, tea and coffee, condiments, alcohol, white flour and sugar should be avoided. Fresh fruits and vegetables should comprise half the daily intake of foods.Taking Thyroxine will ensure that baby will not have a thyroid problem.
me had thyroid problm during my 5th month pregnancy. Dr. suggested thyroxin/thyronorm tablt to be taken on empty stomach. Not any particular diet i was adviced for this. but they adviced diet only for my gestational diabetes.(GDM). Otherwise I was too normal only not thinking much about this. Just to take care not to skip taking tablts prescribed by dr.
Medicine dosage/Diet ,varies person to person.
Hey u need to consult a Dr. as thyroid pbm needs medication than any other treatment....
Hi Aswin
I have hypothyroidism. It was found much before I was pregnant
Doctor prescribed me the medicine and was advised to continue through my pregnancy so that the baby will not be at risk. During pregancy, there was regular check-up for the thyrid levels.
Hence not to worry. Leave the decisions to your doctor and follow
Suggest you to go and check with the gyanec about this, rather taking our views on this, as its very important to maintain thyroid level during any stage of our life and more specific during pregnancy...
