My son is in play school now and he reads alphabets. I tried to teach him to write the alphabet, but he is totally not interested to write. So i thought of starting off with reading words. When will kids start to read words or write letters?

Try buying him an educative cd rom which can spell out alphabets and also show them up on screen. You get plenty of these cd's in landmark, and odyssey (adyar) outlets. You cud also try in bookstores where they have these kind of cds

Thank you kutty, will check out the cds from these shops. I think I must get one in connections or planet-M stores in Annanagar as well.

Try giving hi outlines or shapes of alphabets in a sheet of paper and give him some color crayons or pencils and enthuse him to color inside the shapes. For sometime, you will find that he does the coloring and then put him on the writing habit. This cud be a lot easier as the child will recognise the alphabets and then when it comes to writing may be curious to start. Good luck

Hi

This is the problem for most of the moms in preschool, but dont force them if they r not interested, boz every child is unique n they are having different personalities in learning too

example(i)visual learning kid

              (ii)auditory learning kid

            (iii)practical learning kid

I have to explain in detail for this term....i thing if ur kid is not listening to write words mns he is interested in auditory type of hearing things,so he learns it through hearing....like that listen him carefully he wil be interested in audio patterns rather than reading n writing...dont worry mine is the same problem

So that now im doing some research in US regarding Kids brain upto 0-5 yrs,

So dear parents pls concentrate in Childs Memmory,Concentration,Problem solving skills,Speed,Flexibility, and Creativity things rather than forcing to learn alphabets...and numbers.

In day today life pls allow them to come across all, while playing, shopping, traveling time, and some other activities....these are the things going to help them to fast  learning skills, in future and through there future life...just i shared some of my studies, that's it....

Cheers

Anu
