Hi, My kids are 6 years and 4 years old. I am interested in yoga classes for them. I am wondering whether this is the right time to start or they might find it a little boring (given their high energy level). Any opinions?
Hi Anjali, I would like to tell you my exp. My daughter and son are a lil older. They are 7 and 5 years old. They study at a well known school in Chennai. We received a circular enthusing parents to enroll them for yoga classes on Fridays and Saturdays after school. We were actually wonder struck like you. First my hubby asked his Yoga instructor who is again a well known and renowned master in Yoga. He had advised that if the kids learn Yoga in this kind of young age, flexibility issues at a later stage, wud not be of much concern. We went to their school and also interacted with their Yoga teacher. She holds a testimonial record that she was adjudged the best yoga performer at 31. That was amazing to us. She not only enthused us to make our kids join the program but also assured us that, not only the physical stability increases but also the mental stability, becos of Yoga! The Yoga teacher also made another point. It seems that if girl kids practise Yoga!, then during their motherhood, and delivering their first kid, they wud be at ease and do their best to deliver naturally! How nice! My hubby is a product of DAV school. He told me that whatever the teacher said "Makes sense" We were very happy to put our children in the Yoga Classes, after school. Afterall, we really know that there is someone out there to take care...........like us! Anjali! Ask me more and I will be glad to be of help. This Chennaimoms platform is really cool out here!
Thanks .My son is 3 years completed and entering into 4 th year. Can he go for yoga ?
Hi,
I put my son in yoga classes early this year- he had completed 4. He didn't find it intresting at all! I think the teacher's style was quite dry as well. I suppose if you find a good teacher who will make it intersting, its a good idea. Otherwise, waste of money at this point.
I had enquired with my own yoga teacher, and she recomended at leaset being 7.
Cheers
Banu
instead of sending to yoga class u ask the child to close his or her eyes and sit down and teach them some simple meditation methods if child is interested then put but before five years or appropriate age dont put the child because if they dont show interest we will show distress on them
Your plan & thought process about your Kids is really great & appreciable. It’s a good practice to start with yoga at this level because they are more flexible with the movements during yoga. If your kids really feel boring or wired by yoga try with swimming practices, that really works out well & keeps fit else you can involve them playing physical development games. One more always is ensured that you are providing a good & enriched food regularly.
If your son is otherwise fine, Urine surrounded by ants is no indication that someone is diabetic , this is quite a common feature, but because diabetes runs in families so whenever you visit your paediatrician next do discuss your family history with him so that he/she can keep a watch.
Hi Natalia,
No 2 kids are same so u cannot compare him with your daughter, From what you have written, doesn’t looks like there is a problem, some kids start speaking late, so if his understanding of things and hearing is all right, don’t worry, just continue talking to him, reading to him and otherwise stimulating him and just relax and enjoy your babies!
