My kids (6yrs and 4 yrs old) are going for swimming (and they really like it). But after two hours in water they get eye irritation due to the chlorine in the water. Does anybody knows how to avoid this. I tried goggles for them. Still water gets in to eyes.
1. You can try buying another goggles that would fit you properly. 2. Try flushing your eyes with cool, fresh water after your swim. 3. Use saline eye drops. Use eye drops containing antihistamines. At times, the issue is not too much chlorine in the pool, but too little. Another frequently overlooked source of eye irritation is the sun as people often get eye burn from the sun reflection off the water. In such case, wear good polarized goggles or sunglasses and a hat when you are outside water. Hope it helps.
Hey Anjali: I dont know anything about what you have mentioned now. But I do know, that 2 hours is a bit of an over-exercise for your kids. Hey! What were you doing that 2 hourz. Anyways! I will ask another mom who has some similar experiences and get back to you on this. Bye!
When I talk about two hours, I include how long you will spend in your day for a session in swimming. That includes the travel , warmup they do, swimming, relax stretching they do after swimming etc. If you have to travel a long distance to reach there(which I had to do for horseriding classes)we always tend to find an excuse not to do that.

I think, the goggles have to be tightened well. Try to pull the strap and tighten it. I have experienced this and tried this which works. Well after sometime, you will have to change it.
