My daughter is 4 yrs 10months old and she is in UKG...she is a brilliant child and quick in observing and absorbing things.but for quite few months she has become different and totally lost interest in studies and not interested to write or read any school given works..and more than that she becomes more angry and aggressive often..normally she listen to my talking and understand everything..so i tried talking to her to findout the reason too..but she is not coming out with any and so careless in her attitude..i am unable to understand why she is behaving suddenly in a different fashion..Do i need to consult a child psychologist or counsellor.please help me get some idea..

You might want to check about her behavior in school before consulting a psychiatrist. You can ask somebody else - her teacher, her uncle/aunt who is close to her to talk to her. Might be she'll talk to them. If you want, there is no harm in visiting a child psychiatrist. You can consult Dr. Papakumari (she is the number one child psychiatrist in chennai) or her son Dr. Murugan. They consult in Annanagar itself in the evenings. Here is their address and the phone number. S-60 & 61, 20th Street, Annanagar, Chennai, India – 600040. 044-26214342 They also consult in Dr.Mehta's hospital, chetpet.

hi,this happened in my da's case also. we noticed sudden changes in her marks & discussed about it with her teacher. she said she also saw some behaviour changes in her for the last 2 months.so we asked her to keep an eye on her and identify what would have affected her. when we met her next time, she told us the reason. the teacher had made her the leader of the class. my da has taken it as a serious responsibility, neglecting her studies, even her friends became enemies! then, she was dismissed from that post, everything became normal.! this is in her kg standard! so, dont worry, at her age,you and her teacher can find out most of her problems.try to observe her friends also because maybe she is picking it up from them.

I think , this is common attitude at this age. Don't worry much and most important things is ignore them. If there is a minor or small issues, then don't bother much. Let them harm themselves then show them, what would have been correct. If listened earlier, could have been better. Don't give lecture when they are aggressive, talk to her when she is calm or after that time has passed. Talk to her calmly, what is good, how to behave nicely, if she is good to mamma, others, will show her as a model to their children. Like this, speak to her positively. Don't scold much and don't say, repeatedly with your friends in front of her that she is wrong. With this, she feels, she is like that and she says to you back saying she is like that, a bad girl. Bring her confidence that she is coming out of her wrong deeds. Let's see with these.

Answers from Natural childbirth and lactation consultant,Pediatrician- Dr.Shacchee Khare Baweja

My son of age 5 's urine is always surrounded by ants. Is he diabetic? Bcoz my father and grandparents are diabetic. I'm not. Please help me.

If your son is otherwise fine, Urine surrounded by ants is no indication that someone is diabetic , this is quite a common feature, but because diabetes runs in families so whenever you visit your paediatrician next do discuss your family history with him so that he/she  can keep a watch.
