Hi buzz, this dates confuses me badly; i will post again in a day or two when I ask my hubby, who is on tour presently. He will know the date range which is specified, because enquired for our son. I think different schools have a different pattern. Which school are u aspiring to put him into?

Your son has to complete 3 years by december of this year, if you plan to put him in LKG next June. I checked in few schools in and around Annanagar for my son who will complete 3 by this year. This is the consistent reply I've got from all of them. I didn't check DAV, Mogapair. But I heard that they check for 3 year completion in June or something. But Your son should be atleast 3.5 yrs to get admission in DAV. So he'll go to LKG next June.

thanks nidhi and bhraman...am planning to put him in Bhawan's Rajaji at Kilapuk....wouldn't he be too old for lkg?...he will be nearly 4 next june :(

In Bhawan's the take the kid into lkg when they are 3.5 yrs old. But you can give it a try. I've heard few other schools (la chatline, pon vidyashram) take in kids with 3 yrs into lkg.

I was searching for bhavans school admission and came to your question. Yes, i called bhavan's today (26442823) to check for my granddaughter who is 3.5 yrs now and they say we've to put her in lkg ! I was thinking we've to put her in ukg and she is already in lkg in a montessori school. Also they said they don't have any open seats for ukg :( buzzgks, if you call and if they tell you that ukg seats are available, pls let me know !

Hey, check out schram academy in annanagar. I am not sure about their age criteria but one of my friend's kids are studying here and they are very happy with the school. She said the admission is quite easy in schram and when she put her kid, she was allowed to even choose the class teacher ! They have few anglo indian teachers too. They have good extra curriculars - singing, dancing, skating and swimming. They have good PTA meetings too. Since you all are looking for KG classes this point that she told me would be useful for you. She said they are not strict about the timings at which the students should be in school. If the student is late or takes leave, they dont really make it a fuss. They are flexible and understanding. This was surprise for me as I still remember how i have to make my kids get ready on time to school when they were so small and I've to do everything for them apart from the usual cooking, packing etc in the morning!

Thanks Healer for the info. I called bhavans today and they said they wont consider my kid who will not be 3 on dec 31st. He is jan 1st born and they said even 1 day matters ! Well, buzzgks, you might want to get the application on dec 6th morning when they are distributing it.

2 solutions to this problem 1. Try to get into bhavan's UKG 2. Try to get into Schram Academy UKG...and then shift him to Bhavan's in 1st std..( since the higher classes are ina diffrent campus far far away) What do you all suggest ????

PLAY GROUP -  FOR AGES 2+

NURSERY - FOR AGES 3+

JUNIOR KG - FOR AGES 3.5 ((read as three and half )) - 4.5 YEARS

SENIOR KG - FOR AGES 4.5 - 5.5 YEARS

My son of age 5 's urine is always surrounded by ants. Is he diabetic? Bcoz my father and grandparents are diabetic. I'm not. Please help me.

If your son is otherwise fine, Urine surrounded by ants is no indication that someone is diabetic , this is quite a common feature, but because diabetes runs in families so whenever you visit your paediatrician next do discuss your family history with him so that he/she  can keep a watch.

No 2 kids are same so u cannot compare him with your daughter, From what you have written, doesn’t looks like there is a problem, some kids start speaking late, so if his understanding of things and hearing is all right,don’t worry, just continue talking to him, reading to him and otherwise stimulating him and just relax and enjoy your babies!
