Call Taxi vs Private Cabs

I wanted to book a Call Taxi to go to Ocheri, near Ayanavaram. I called my regular cab operator. He told me that they wud charge Rs.600/- for 5 hours and a maximum of 50 kms. Beyond that per hour charges will be applicable. I wanted a non a/c car, but he told me the charges were the same for a/c and non a/c. is it true? Are there options? can any moms give some inputs on this? Wud a call taxi be cheaper?

Hi nidhi, Hope you are doing great! Ocheri? on Sunday from ur place. Wow. It wud be a good drive. listen, the charges actually vary from anything between 450/- to 600/- for the cab opeartors side. As for the Call Taxi they operate in range of Rs. 12.5 to 16/- per km. Call taxi dont take a/c becos its lousy. Once I tried to get a call taxi with a/c. I got suffocated with cigarette smoke from the a/c. Looks like the driver or earlier passengers wud have smoked, so the smell sticks on! and when they put the a/c, the smell is horrible. I had been to OPM last nite. Oh gal! I saw so many girls, ladies smoking. The ladies smoking culture is quite high in Chennai. This was the first time when I saw so many of them smoking.
