Tags : alphabet writting
Hi Moms, My elder son studied in a different school in LKG and SKG. Now I shifted his school in 1st std and put my younger son also in the same school at LKG. For my elder son they started the alphabet writting with small case 'c', 'a' etc. But for my younger son they are teaching in alphabetical order - small case 'a', 'b' etc. My younger son is finding it difficult to write 'b'. He somehow managed to write 'a'. I think the old school where my elder son studied, their pattern of teaching writting is better as all similar alphabets are learned and finally they give homework for all small cases in alphabetical order. How did they teach for your kids in their school? Based on your inputs I would like to discuss with the school on the same.
Hi,
In my Son's School first they started teaching kinds of lines to kids - Standing up line, slanting line, another slanting line, curved line, another curved line and circle. After tat they started small alphabets first letter they taught was letter "i" then l , t, c, o a, d like this.
For Montessori kids if we start from kinds of lines or strokes it will be good because they will hve an idea how to write the letters and numbers because those lines only we can form all alphabets and numbers. For example to write small i we can tell them as "write standing up line and keep a dot on it" and for number 2 we can say"write another curved line and lying down line". This will help them in writing and identifying numbers at initial stages.
My son is in junior Montessori(LKG) now he writes numbers till 25 and 75% of alphabets because in their school they are not going alphabetical order n watever he writes first he says kinds of line and then he names tat letter or number.
Sravani
ya, sravani is right.....first they vl teach standing line, slanting line etc...then they will teach alphabets but in the order they will teach easy writing alphabets at first like c, l etc...
hi brahman, my daughter too has started with patterns like standing lines, up U, down U... and they associate each pattern with some sound or some funny thing like ")" is called bumpy bump and then they say something like bumpy bumpy bump or so...
along with patterns they teach numbers as well... and then they start off with alphabets and tht too cursive script !!
If your son is otherwise fine, Urine surrounded by ants is no indication that someone is diabetic , this is quite a common feature, but because diabetes runs in families so whenever you visit your paediatrician next do discuss your family history with him so that he/she can keep a watch.
Hi Natalia,
No 2 kids are same so u cannot compare him with your daughter, From what you have written, doesn’t looks like there is a problem, some kids start speaking late, so if his understanding of things and hearing is all right, don’t worry, just continue talking to him, reading to him and otherwise stimulating him and just relax and enjoy your babies!
