Tags : I am trying to lose weight !!! Any ideas ?
Hi everyone ,
I have put on 10 Kgs and every effort to lose the extra kilos has gone in vain. Any suggestions?
Smitta, both of us are in the same boat....but I can share some tricks that I used to lose weight from 64 kgs to 55 kgs systematically.....first, ban all fried foods...no pappads, no vadaams, bajjis or bondas....this will immediately stop the excess fat getting accumulated in the body....then ban all potato based foods...this will lead to reduction of starchy foods....as much as possible substitute wheat or vegetables for rice...if possible take liquid food for dinner like porrige, it will not only help you to lose weight, but will also help in good digestion....it may not be possible for you to do regular exercise...but if you are working, stop using lift and get into the habit of using stairs....this will start burning your calories...after you start doing it, you'll not see any impact for the first one month....you'll see the results only in the second month...so it is implied that you need to follow it for minimum 2 months....
Hi,
It is good that you are conscious of your weight. This itself would let you try some means to reduce. Arunvarun amma has given all major points which wud be of great use to you. The thing which I observed from one of our friends who reduced his weight is that , he does not eat anything after 6p.m except fruits. I am trying the same method now , but I eat salad without dressing, sundal without coconut, sprouts, bhel without sev and peanut, and fruits. I plan one item for each day's supper. I am not fat but developed bit tummy which i am trying to reduce using the above menu. Strict no no to Pizza, burgers, french fries and any item that has cheese or oil.Every day before bath (empty stomach) do skipping, increse from 20 to how much ever you can. You can def reduce wt.
One of my friend suggested to soak oats (kollu) in water on previous day's night and drink the water in the morning. It'll smell very bad, but drink only the water. no breakfast. It'll help in weight reduction - esp the tummy part.
One other friend suggested to drink little lime+honey everyday morning. I have started with this, i'll let u know the results after few weeks
Hi Smiitta,
I was also 75 after my delivery but reduced to 60 in few months.what i did was just mere walking and diet..
walk (brisk walking) jus for 30 min for 2 weeks and slowly increase the timing..
it will surely burn ur calories..
regarding diet...eliminate fasting and feasting...thats is wat is required..
morning u can hav 3 idli or 3 dosas with sambar and no coconut chutney bcos it contains cholestrol.lunch u can hav little rice with more cooked vegetables.don take rice in the night before goin to bed.take 3 chappathi wit dall or any vegetable gravy.
get to know the things which r high in calorie and eliminate them from ur food.as simple as that..
all the best ![]()
Thank you so very much everyone . I will definitely follow the suggestions. I truely appreciate your response. Will let you know the results soon .

Weight reduction should happen in a gradual way, without causing harm to your boday and not causing fatigue. a balanced diet is very essential for women of all ages. All the nutrients and micro nutrients are essential to keep our hair, skin, organ functions, energy and bone health intact.
Instead I suggest eat well, eat a lot, do not starve..... but eat right. When you stuff yourself with salads / fruits you will not feel like eating a lot of the normal diet which makes you put on weight.
Make vegetable parathas and herbal chpathis with ground pudina, coriander and curry leaves to include fibre into your diet.
Hi,
This Topic has benn running for more than a year,I don;t know if you are all intrested .
My husband is a Doctor and he advised me to go on a cellular nutrition diet. The amazing thing is I lost 12 Kgs in 3 months. If any one wants further info contact me.
I had gained almost 20kgs during my poregnancy. And became 75kgs from 80kgs after my delivery.I was breast feeding my son till he was 2.6yrs so I never tried to reduce during that time.Bt though I used to eat well during that time I was able to reduce upto 68kgs just by breastfeeding.Once I stopped breast feeing I stopped rice.I take either oats or brown bread toast or corn flakes for breakfast.Started filling my stomach with salads during lunch and then will eat all the curries(veg n fishcurry)....That itself was filling...Night I eat salads chapathi(2) and curries again....Bt 3hrs before I go to bed.I also started walking. Now I have only 3 more kgs to reduce...(am 63kgs now....started this diet by mid feb)
