Please help me out on how to perform aadi perukku pooja, My MIL family used to do every year this year they asked to us to celebrate separately so please tell me on how to do the aadi perukku pooja in tamil style
Aadiperukku Festival In Tamilnadu :
The people of Tamilnadu will always have a different and perfect approach in doing any particular thing. More than the normal perfection they focus on the greater perfection. In the same manner the Aadiperukku festival is celebrated in a great way by the people of Tamilnadu. First of all the Aadiperukku festival in Tamilnadu is celebrated by the people who gets involved themselves to greater extent to the festival. The families come together to the river delta and take a bath in the river or just wetting the head. This is known as snanam in Tamilnadu. After the bath the people wear new cloths and perform the special pooja to the Kaveri amman.

The aadi month falls during the monsoon season and is essentially a thanksgiving to monsoon which fills the rivers – the lifeline of farmers.
Aadi Perruku Pooja Details :
The goddess, as Pachai Amman, is a manifestation of divine design, to establish peace and harmony in the world. Pachai amman or Kanni amman appeared in many local spots which exhibited holy centers by inherent energy presence and influence of over that localities. In the manifestation of Pachai Amman in Thirumullaivaayal, the amman deity was successful in establishing peace and prosperity in this world. She is called the goddess of marriage as she blesses those awaiting marriage to enter into wedlock. There is a tall statue of Ayyanar housed in Pachai amman temple of Thirumullaivaayal which is an added attraction. A tank near the temple is said to possess medicinal properties. Devotees surge to have a rendezvous with the goddess on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays and more specially on Aadi month.
HiThe 18th day of Aadi is called Aadi perukku with fresh water flow into river Cauvery. It is a great celebration in the regions where Cauvery flows, but even people in other towns and cities follow the thanksgiving to Cauvery with special prayers and grand feast with different mixed rice like jaggery rice, tamarind rice, coconut rice, lemon rice, aviyal and vadaam..we used to celebrate Aadi Perukku we used to rise early morning go to temple wear new clothes and tie a Nombu thread yellow,red colour of the thread may vary.

STEPS TO PERFORM AADI PERUKKU:
1.Take a small brass pot. Wash it and clean it. Decorate it with Chandan, Kumkum and Akshad and some flowers. Chant the following sloka 11 times by closing the pot with your right hand.
2.Gangeicha, Yamunechaiva, Godavari, Saraswathi, Narmathe, Sindhu, Cauvery, Jalesmin Sannidhim Kuru.
3.After that pour the water in your well and if you dont have a well pour it near your bore point.
4.Make mixed rice like, Puliyogarai, Coconut Rice, Lemon rice, Sweet Pongal, and curd rice and offer it to the Gods.
