Congrats! Now be ready to welcome the little one. Keep a bag with the following ready-

For you-

Toiletories, nighties, nursing nighty and bras, sanitary napkins, towel, sheets. A flask, 2 steel glasses, water bottles, one or two medium plates, spoon, a torch light too.

For the baby -

nappies and dresses for the baby (if you have the habit of buying things before the baby is born) , sheets, baby carriers, wrapping sheet for the baby, rubber sheet, a small spoon to give medicine to the baby, wipes, diaper also.

Hi Aakashi, Ghee helps in brain development of the baby.

Ghee nourishes the body when taken in right quantities.
Ghee actually increases digestive power and helps in smooth bowel movements.
My early -pregnancy constipation was relieved through ghee in milk only.

According to me ghee is largely fat and when there is some residual protein, some minimal quantity of protein. It is a myth that eating ghee will help with delivery, what will help is mom being relaxed and prepared and getting the adequate support she needs through a professional and the support of her husband.

All of us need some saturated fat and there is enough of it in whole grains and nuts. Adding ghee to the diet, when you are unaccustomed to it is not necessary at all during the last trimester.

There is no scientific evidence to support this belief of having ghee nearing delivery brings labor easier.

It is often thought that like castor oil, ghee can act as a laxative which could help to induce labour in women who are overdue. By irritating the bowel, which then extends to the uterus, drinking ghee is believed to lead to contractions. It is also thought that it helps to lubricate the vagina thus aiding in a smooth delivery. There is little or no concrete evidence to back either of these beliefs.
