Tags : Is gokulashtami and krishna jayanthi both are different?, gokulashtami festival, goklashtami 2012 date
Hi,
I 'm wondering, Is gokulashtami and krishna jayanthi both are different?
Today morning only i heard krishna jeyanthi will celebrate on september 8 and that is government holiday..but
august 9th is gokulakhtami ..what is the difference?
Sri Krishna Jayanti marks the celebration of the birth of Bhagavan Sri Krishna..but what about gokulashtami? whom will celebrate and what purpose?
Any one know, please explain me.
Both are the same, different people use different names, Gokulashtami, Krishna Jayanthi, Sree Jayanthi are all the same, the birth of Krishna.Jayanthi is the word used to denote someone's birthday.
not like that varloo,Gokulashtami is celebrated by northindians and some of southindians( including brahmin-iyers) on the day of astami(thithi). This Astami comes at eighth day after avani avittam .
krishna jeyanthi is celebrated by Brahmin-iyengars and some others When Astami(thithi) and rohini(star)combines. It will come on sep 8th.
We celebrate kirshna jeyanthi.Hope u understood.
