I am planning the first of many events - Pregnancy & Childbirth event in Chennai in July.
First Event - July
Pregnancy & Childbirth : Safe and natural ( I would coin a more attractive title - suggestions welcome)
The basic purpose would be to educate about:
Evidence based practice
Choosing doctors
Guide to choosing a more natural and less intervention childbirth
Birth movies
We will also have a panel discussion with couples who have chosen the path to an informed childbirth and the difference it has made. I will also try to rope in doctors who support such a practice.
This is to create awareness and will be done Chennai Birth Network (not-for-profit) which I have created for people with a passion to change birth. you could PM me and I could send you an invite.
I would love ideas for ( very low budget/ voluntary )

This is for expecting couples, TTC couples, mothers, grand mothers, just about anybody whose life has been touched by a birth. So how many of you will be interested in coming for the event which should be held somewhere bet'n adyar and nungambakkam

Hey Radhika.. was surprised to see you responding to this... so came in out of curiosity to read if you are planning for your third one!
I will announce it about one week before the event is held. I am hoping for 3rd sunday of July thats 19th.

The Chennai Birth Network (CBN) is a group of individuals in Chennai who are passionate about informed pregnancy, natural childbirth and breastfeeding support. CBN aims to bring about awareness to pregnant women on the merits of evidence based care practice in maternity care.
Event Agenda Movie Screening : “ The Business of Being Born” After the delivery of her first child, actress Ricki Lake recruits filmmaker Abby Epstein to question the way American women have babies. The film interlaces intimate birth stories with surprising historical, political and scientific insights and shocking statistics about the current maternity care system. When director Epstein discovers she is pregnant during the making of the film, the journey becomes even more personal.
Should most births be viewed as a natural life process, or should every delivery be treated as a potentially catastrophic medical emergency?

The movie shows birth and is graphical in nature, so children and minors are not allowed.

Nuts should be taken only in limited quantity during pregnancy or otherwise also.one or two pieces of anyone of these nuts will be sufficient.too much of it will make you put on weight more than normal,which is not advised.dry fruits are not needed. You take fresh fruits.dry fruits are for people who are under weight .

It varies with the institution and doctor
It varies from 15,000 to 50,000 for normal delivery.three times that for a c-section
