Add lots of Onions and garlic in your food.

I used to soak a spoon of methi seeds over night and have the softened seeds next day. This helped me a lot.

Massage your breasts before and after feeding which will enhance the milk flow.

My mom used to advice me to eat lots of ghee, not sure if this helps.

Take oats boiled well in milk.

Strawberries help in milk production.

hey Puja,

congrats first 4 breast feeding your baby!

Regarding increasing your milk production you just know that

1. the more you feed your baby the more milk is produced! That means that the demand and supply are carefully coordinated BE ABSOLUTELY SURE TO NOT TO GIVE ANY TOP FEED TO YOUR BABY if she is under 6 months not even water!!!!!. Whenever you feed your baby 1st put her ton 1 breast and when the breast is completely empty then only put her on the other one. During the next feed put her on the other breast first.

2. You have to take adequate rest ,both physically and emotionally. Best way to do is REST when ypur baby is sleeping.

3. Eat a well balanced diet, ie have plenty of fruits(esp pappaya) and veggies( esp green leafy ones), dals, roti, eggs, have small amts of dry fruits and ghee also, hv milk/ paneer and curds regularly. continue wid yor iron calcium and vitamin supplements. go slow on v oily and spicy foods.

4 drink plenty of water.

5 last but not the least cuddle with your baby often, play with her, stay together most of the awake time .

All the best. Njoy the experience.

I had a similar problem and these things really helped

1. Take cumin seeds in food. Try soaking cumin seeds in water overnight and drink the water the next day

2. massage your breasts with hot towel

3. Tke milk protiens- either milk, cheese or curd.

Hope it works for you as well

Cheers

Answers from Natural childbirth and lactation consultant,Pediatrician- Dr.Shacchee Khare Baweja

My son of age 5 's urine is always surrounded by ants. Is he diabetic? Bcoz my father and grandparents are diabetic. I'm not. Please help me.

If your son is otherwise fine, Urine surrounded by ants is no indication that someone is diabetic , this is quite a common feature, but because diabetes runs in families so whenever you visit your paediatrician next do discuss your family history with him so that he/she  can keep a watch.
