Hi Hajira,

Welcome to the group! I am sure you will find this site very useful!

BTW, bedwetting until the age of five or six is a very  a common occurrence and is usually not considered a problem.  If bedwetting continues beyond 6 years, you probably need to consult a doctor and get some solution. But understand that bedwetting is not a disease. In most of the case, it gets cured with time.  You kid is only 4 years and he will get over it sooner.

For the time being, you can try some of these steps:

  • Limit your kid's fluid intake a few hours before bedtime. Dont give lot of fluids just before the bed time.
  • Encourage your child to visit the toilet before he goes to sleep. If necessary, wake him up once during the night so that he can empty his bladder.
  • Bed-wetting may increase with a drop in temperature, so make sure your child is dressed in warm clothing.

Hope this helps.

Actually u need not worry until your son is 7 years old,,,if he has the same problem in later stages, better chk with peadiatrician, as some children will have no control over their urinary bladder till 7 years

Answers from Natural childbirth and lactation consultant,Pediatrician- Dr.Shacchee Khare Baweja

My son of age 5 's urine is always surrounded by ants. Is he diabetic? Bcoz my father and grandparents are diabetic. I'm not. Please help me.

If your son is otherwise fine, Urine surrounded by ants is no indication that someone is diabetic , this is quite a common feature, but because diabetes runs in families so whenever you visit your paediatrician next do discuss your family history with him so that he/she  can keep a watch.
