Aarambh(www.aarambhplayschool.com) in GN Chetty Road is good.
My son is going there only. He loves to go there.
U can see magics in your child.....
Hi guys,
I am looking for schools for playgroup for my 1.5 yr old son. Though we stay in ashok nagar, i have even checked out aarmbh caz there does not seem to be too much of problem commuting there. We checked out A school in ashok nagar but was not really impressed. Roots to wings in K K nagar was though very appealing to me. But its quite far from ashok nagar , as in, we might as well go to T Nagar or G N chetty which would be on the way to office and market place instead of going that far in the opposite direction.
We liked aarambh. But still would love to hear from parents who have their kids there. Especially what do you think about it as compared to the branded schools like Roots to Wings, A school etc.
Secondly two things that sheela maam there told us was a little wierd, one that kids should only bring biscuits and khakra for snacks!! as in they wud teach them to eat these and nothing else. Why wud we want our kids to be trained to eat something not so healthy like biscuits if we have better options like chapati, idli etc?
Secondly, toilet training is not taken care of by them whereas all other schools do it. She said that the kid must finish off potty before coming to school and you wud have to come and collect the child if he does it there?? this is also wierd!!
Amirtha i read that your child goes to aarambh, it would be really great if i could have some inputs from you and others too. Am really very confused, probably the moms who have already crossed this stage wud understand.
Thanks v much
Arjain,
My son went to Aarambh when he was 3 years old... so he didn't have those problems like potty training...
He enjoyed a lot... Had a good time and learnt alot.........Actually i didn't enquire in anyother playschools.. I had a liking that my son should go to Aarambh... So directly went and got admission there......
Arjain,
My daughter went to Aarambh when she was 2 years old. She was part of the 2006-2007 batch.
Sheela ma'am told me the same things. You should have asked her why she recommends these habits. I put my daughter there as Aarambh was more appealing to me than any other play school.
Sheela ma'am will clear most of the doubt parents have in raising their child for moms who are having their first child. I am a pediatrician and Sheela ma'am often calls me to ask me for direction on hygiene and child care.
About the khakra and biscuits, well most kids eat parle g and other biscuits...they are not unhealthy at all. it is advisable to send dry food since toddlers are bound to drop their food around and make a mess. no matter how much you try to handle it, the mess is inevitable. and it is better to avoid that in the presence of more than one child. so dry food items are better to train them to eat by themselves rather than sending idlis and dosas which they will make a mess off.
and the potty issues... dont you think its more hygienic to let your child do potty in your own house rather than have him develop the habit of doing it in school. and what will happen if all the children will do potty in class? how unhygienic will that be... imagine if they have to take each child to the toilet and clean them up. its better you inculcate the habit of doing potty as soon as they wake up. it is healthy and will help them in the future.
If your son is otherwise fine, Urine surrounded by ants is no indication that someone is diabetic , this is quite a common feature, but because diabetes runs in families so whenever you visit your paediatrician next do discuss your family history with him so that he/she can keep a watch.
Hi Natalia,
No 2 kids are same so u cannot compare him with your daughter, From what you have written, doesn’t looks like there is a problem, some kids start speaking late, so if his understanding of things and hearing is all right, don’t worry, just continue talking to him, reading to him and otherwise stimulating him and just relax and enjoy your babies!
