I am a hindu back ground and i like indian traditions but i can't like that in one religion different type of people and every person have some own traditions. and every person think those are joined him they follow his/her tradition but that is not possible and this problem is a big challanged for those persons whoes married with interscast in same religion.so please don't create own culture or tradition we are Indian and please organise same traditions for all.

Indian Tradition starting from early morning wakeup, bath, pooja, yoga, respect to elders, joined families, home made remedies, traditional food, greeting to guest, different religions having their own customs...u may count as much and feel proud to be Indian. From here mentioned all Indian religion who wants to discontinue and which one...that's why still Indian tradition is alive and continue generationt to generation. Each parent try their best to pass these traditional values to their kids as these all have ethenic & spiritual powers to build up your personality of a well being human, which everyone wants in theirselves.

Now come to Indian religion tradition..India is a religious country and different religions have different tradition. All hv their own values..love to celebrate festival which not only unites ur family but also all the India as a big family. Religion teach you discipline, moral values, respect to elders, love to children, friendship to same age group. Only through these festivals u can have the true value of relationships whether its brother-sister, husband-wife, son-daughter..u will get all the values through it. Even whole world is now transferring to Indian traditions..doing yoga, going to be vegetarian, accepting ayurveda, connecting with nature..

Some tradition looks worthless..but hv some underneath values in it. U can count the benefit of wearing sindoor, fingure ring, bindi, piercing ears which are traditional customs.u can read it through vedas. Doing Fast again brings some medical significants..which is again our elders brought in the wrap of tradition religions.

But in the name of religious activities harassment to others, forcefully  trying to change their values r totally wrong and not in the Indian culture.

u may discard the worthless tradition, which u feel is now not relevant in the modern age..but all the indian ethics and tradition bring our country the most respectful and traditional country. Proud to be Indian and want to be Indian if come again in this world.

Our traditions gives us our roots. The more we nurture the roots the more vibrant , meaningful and beautiful our lives are.  These days we are aping western traditions blindly. The result is neither we know about our traditions properly nor  can we  ever be completly westernised. When we go to foreign countries with very poor knowledge of our own rich traditions, we are in a way disrespecting India. Study of therich cultural heritage of India  should be a matter of pride among students, but it is sad to see the history classes are the most neglected ones in schools. Both the teachers and students should be more responsible while studying indian history because this is the only subject in school which gives us the insight into the cultural and traditional legacy of India. Moreover every Indian household should practice the religious festivals, which are associated to their region. This will help the young generation to learn and appreciate our ageold traditions. As a working mother of two school going kids it becomes very difficult for me to celebrate every religious festival . But I make sure to make a special dish associated with some of the festivals and also teach my daughter to draw alpana and explain the importance and significance of the festivals like MAKAR SAKRANTI , LAXMI PUJA ,JANMASTAMI etc.

India is still a very traditional country and I think that's our strength. The best Indian tradition is Marriage. In India people still consider marriage  as very sacred and try not to break the relation for trivial reasons and at times even big reasons, For the sake of our children, we try to adjust and make it work so that they can grow in a secured and loving atmosphere. A child grown up in a joint family learns to be social, sharing, adjusting and   respecting others easily.  They get the love of grand parents and uncles and aunts along with their parents. Even when we have nuclear family, we keep visiting relatives so eventually they learn a lot about our tradition and values.

There is nothing wrong in adopting good things of western culture , but our roots should be strong enough to withstand any cultural change.
