Any one know what is the adoption procedure in india? and who are can apply for adoption ? Any unmarried individual women can take adoption? what are the rules to apply for adoption..
Hi,
In india unmarried women allow to adopt a child but the procedure is diffferent.
Basically in India Indian and non resident Indian or a foreign citizen may adopt a child, In India single female or a married couple can adopt a child. Single male usually not eligible to be an adoptive parent. But some special cases are allowed.
An adoptive parent should be medically fit and financially able to care for a child. A person wishing to adopt a child must be at least 21 years old.
here is no legal upper age limit for parents but most adoptive agencies set their own benchmarks with regard to age.
For a child who is less than a year old, the adoptive parents can have a maximum combined age of 90 years. Also, neither parent must be older than 45 years.
In the case of adoption of older children, the age of the parents may be relaxed accordingly. For example, for a one-year-old child, the age limit is 46 years, for a two-year-old child, it is 47 years and so on. The upper age limit for an adopted child is 12 years while for anadoptive parent it is 55 years. In the case of an adopted child with special needs, the age limit may be relaxed marginally by the state government, depending on the evaluation of the case. However, in all cases, the age of the parent cannot exceed 55 year

hi
first of all hats of to you........
i don know any idea abt dis but i like to wish you for taking dis mind blowing decision.
very proud of you.no words to say.
I went through the formalities online and understood, that you have to be an indian citizen to really adopt, foreigners will only get a lifelong guardianship.
you will have to go thru a set of talk which ensure u r fitting the bill of an adoptive mom. which means you have enough time and money to ensure the well being of a child aswell as maturity and morals. after you have gone thru with tht stage, u can detail your wishes and go ahead. they will make suggestions and you can go and see the child.
mostly the procedure takes around 3 to 6 months.
i read elsewhere tht there are only 6000 kids up for adoption at this point in time and i found the number very low considering the vastness of indian subcontinent.
cheers to you and go ahead!
If your son is otherwise fine, Urine surrounded by ants is no indication that someone is diabetic , this is quite a common feature, but because diabetes runs in families so whenever you visit your paediatrician next do discuss your family history with him so that he/she can keep a watch.
Hi Natalia,
No 2 kids are same so u cannot compare him with your daughter, From what you have written, doesn’t looks like there is a problem, some kids start speaking late, so if his understanding of things and hearing is all right, don’t worry, just continue talking to him, reading to him and otherwise stimulating him and just relax and enjoy your babies!
