Dear Cmoms,
I would like to go for a Lasik treatment but slight fear prevents me from doing it.I hope somebody might have done & it would be helpful for me if you share ur experience & the best hospital in chennai which does that (guess vasan eye care is doing good job).Eagerly waiting for your comments.

hello
i have undergone lasik eye treatment in the year 2009(may). success ratio is high in case of lasik and it mostly depends on the eye of the individual. I had my treatment at vasan's eye care (saidapet) and i experienced severe pain in the right eye after the surgery. i had discomfort and pain for four days and when i enquired they said things are normal. ALSO enquire about the vision that u will get after the surgery.. Usually zero correction is not possible in all the cases. It lies somewhere between zero and 0.5, in some cases it results in zero also. mine is not zero correction. they will advice u to take head bath after four days of surgery but its better to avoid for a week.(in sankara netralaya they have clearly mentioned to take head bath after two weeks). epilasik is a newer laser eye surgery procedure and it has more advantages compared to lasik surgery. Check this with the doctor and shankara netralaya is doing EPILASIK. lubricating drops will be given before the surgery and use as per instruction.this is to avoid dryness. dont rub ur eyes after surgery. try to take rest on the day of surgery. if u need any other information reg this msg me
Hello abi,
Read ur msg regarding laser surgery. My doubts are that why havent you taken epilasik. What would be the cost for the entire procedure. If there is no zero correction, do the doctors advice to wear specs again.
thanks.

I WAS NOT AWARE OF EPILASIK LAST YEAR SO I DIDN'T GO FOR IT... I WENT FOR A CHECKUP IN SHANKARA NETRALAYA SO I CAME TO KNOW ABOUT THE PROCEDURE...YES IF U DO NOT GET ZERO CORRECTION AND IF UR POWER IS MORE THAN OR EQUAL TO 0.75 U MAY HAVE TO GO IN FOR GLASSES..BUT it depends.. mostly that will not happen... it also depend on the power that u have now... one more thing is that u cannot go in for contact lenses after lasik......as of i have heard most of the people are comfortable ...... it depends on the eyes of the individual... don't worry .success rates are high ....
Thanks for sharing abi.....but how do you feel now?Are you comfortable (OR) do you still face any eye problem?
