hi,

Any one know which is the right age to give egg to babies? can i give egg to babies before 1 year? Is it good for health? i asked many of my family members every one given different answers so i am in confusion so please let me know ..

hi deevena,

Before one year u can start giving eggs. In the inital stage u can give boiled eggs with yellow portion... I hav started to give egg for my kid from 7th month onwards.

So , Start giving ur kid egg, check whether it is normally digested.... Because some kids may initially allergic to it... Vomiting may come... like that.... so check properly continue giving

yellow yolk in egg can be given to babies from 8th month.From 1year onwards u can give whole egg

Hi,

It is advisable to start with egg yolk and introduce whole egg after the age of 1 year due to the risks of allergies associated with egg white.

If the child accepts the taste of egg yolk now, well and good, otherwise try again after giving some gap. But do not leave it, egg is nutritious and a good source of protein and iron for kids. Remember, an egg a day keeps the doctor away!

And boil (cook) the egg throroughly when you give yolk to kids because of the risk with salmonella.

My son of age 5 's urine is always surrounded by ants. Is he diabetic? Bcoz my father and grandparents are diabetic. I'm not. Please help me.

If your son is otherwise fine, Urine surrounded by ants is no indication that someone is diabetic , this is quite a common feature, but because diabetes runs in families so whenever you visit your paediatrician next do discuss your family history with him so that he/she can keep a watch.

Greetings Doctor,

Trust this finds u in best of health.

I am a mother of 2 kids. daughter age 6 and son 22 months. my concern is my son. its been a couple of months now, he blabbers alot. there are a few words i can understand but most of the time he blabbers or talks baby talk to himself or to us. he can say mamma, dadda, come, more (if he wants more to eat) numnum for food, the word no, his sister's name very recently. he loves to sing rhymes. but he cant prenounce the words perfectly but say he is 4 out of 10. the melody is perfect. it was all very adorable but sometimes its very worrying to hear him blabber. i wonder if it is normal. i am quite anxious to know cause i did not experience this with my daughter. infact she started talking really well by this time. please advise. Thanks for reading.

Hi Natalia,

No 2 kids are same so u cannot compare him with your daughter, From what you have written, doesn’t looks like there is a problem, some kids start speaking late, so if his understanding of things and hearing is all right,don’t worry, just continue talking to him, reading to him and otherwise stimulating him and just relax and enjoy your babies!
