Tags : have another child or not
hi
i have 4 year old daughter. some doctor told me that having one child may leads to behavioural problem. is it true ? i am in full confusion whether to conceive or not plzz............... solve my problem.
Hi Sathyaprabhakar,
Many moms today have a confusion like this... but what i personally think is it is not totally true that a single child can have behavioural probs.. it only means that a single child will not learn to mix with others outside... but if we see to it that our kid plays with the other kids and mixes well with people outside then i dont think it is a problem. It is on our part that we should take them out and let them mix with others outside the home. we can take them to a park or allow them to play with the neighbouring kids. If it started from an early age, wen they enter their school then they will love to be with their friends.
However, if you are really interested then i think you can as well plan for a second one. The reason for moms have only a single kid is different in different people for different resons. It is not at all a bad idea to give a new little bro or a little sis to ur kid...
so wen r u giving us the good news....
hi satya,,
its not really true that having one kid wll lead to behavioural problem. Are there no person whom they have bros and sis have behavioural problem. I do agree with smitha tht its totally depends upon the parents and the environment they will be brought up.
Managing with 2 children is really a tough job ya !!!!!!!!!! ufffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff
I wish to share my personal experience which may throw light on this tipic. My elder son was 3+ When people started asking us about our second child. I would brush off all these querries saying that one kid is enough. We doted on our son and were happy to have just him around. Then one day
I wanted to do my BEd. so had asked a friend to get me the prospectus from the college. She handed over the prospectus and gave me a long lecture on why I should have a second child. I was back home and got busy with cooking etc. I suddenly realised that my son who used to be hyperactive, was so quiet and nowhere to be seen.................
I went from room to room looking for him and found him in his toy room. He was lying on the floor with all his toys strewn all aound him. I asked him what the matter was. " I am so bored" was the answer I got. I sat with him and told him,' YOu have so many toys so how can you be bored? Play with them and once I finish my work, I will also play with you"
" No, I don;t want to play with you. You have bought me all toys but you have not given me anyone to play with" was the answer I got.
This is when we realised that the child yearns for company at home.
On that day we decided to have another child- my second son. The idea of BEd was thrown out of the window.
Yes it was tough bringing them up. They would fight like mad but they would also play together and were inseprable. Today one is 29yrsof age and the other 24.and boy am I proud of them........... You bet I am.
it is good to have second child. You can conceive and a 5 year gap is not too much. Better still you can consider the option of ADOPTION. There are whole lots of organizations and groups out there who will guide you.
I agree with hem. I too had only one daughter. When she was alone she used to trouble me that she wants to go and play with other neighbouring kids and wanted me always next to her. But now after I have my second daughter she is very happy with her and they support each other even at home as well as school. More over after we are not there, there would be some one very close to thier blood on Earth whom they can think after us, with whom they can share every thing.
Better you have.
It is purely in the hands of the parent. So far as the single child is not pampered and spoilt and doesn't get the idea that she must have everything that she asks for I don't feel there will be any behavioural problems. Parents should keep a control over themselves in not overdoing things because she is their only concern. There is no harm in having a single child if you keep the above points in mind. Today there are so many factors to be kept in mind before bringing home a kid. If you are able to make your child socialize well, teach her to share and adjust then having a single child is no probs at all.
It is not normal.please check with your doctor .if the baby is alive and healthy then don’t worry .
Ther may be watery secretion which is normal
Most of the Indians are anemic and the diet is not sufficient in iron and calcium.hence we advise routinely iron and calcium supplementation.they can cause some discomfort in the stomach for few people.most of the time it is well tolerated
