once doctor said that it is due to bad cholestrol, to remove change the diet.. it happens for me if my weight increases.. she also said that gold reacts with our sweat plus the chemicals that we use.. anyways try the following.. 

if u want to remove, use nalla ennai with cotton and take out..

u can also use cotton plus cleanser to remove.. 

try to have foods that reduce bad cholestrol.. 

Yeah!! Agree with Sugi.. I went to a skin clinic and the doctor suggested that it can also be because of the lifestyle.. (food habits, lack of excercise etc.,).. He asked me to excercise atleast 20-30 mins a day.. to lighten.. you can apply kadala maavu, with a little bit of sandal, kasturi manjal and milk.. or you can try konda kadalai powder along with orange juice or lemon juice. Make a paste and apply it over the neck.. dont talk or eat while you have applied this paste.

hmmm .. ve not heard bout this .. can u go to dermatologist? hope u can explain to him in the hindi u know

vels, one of my friends named meera had the same probs.she applied lemon mixed with kadala mavu.u can just make a try dear.moreover, try appying coconut oil daily around the neck.

try this for a week ma .. (preferably in the evening , once u finish all ur work & ready to relax for at least 20 min ...

" 1 small spoon honey , same qty thulasi chaaru (kadaikalanna gram flour ok)  & mix both in the cream of milk .. apply the paste in the place u feel is dark " ( hair honeyla padakoodadhu ok ) .. leave it for 20 min & then just clean it with warm water .. then apply any turmeric powder u get at pune (edhuvum illanna Vicco turmeric cream kadaikkuma paaru ) if the darkness in the are starts reducing that means ur skin responds for this itself ... remember to tell the result next week ok ...

Buna thappa eduthukadha...enaku manjal othukadhu..am alergic to it..during marriage manjal kayir katuvanga la..adhukey naan manjal thadavina...i will get allergies ...dunno if ur idea can work out..even vicco I had tried in college...orey erichalayidum and I kept in itching...

 vel , manjal alergy irundha use  "Evion Cream " ( u get it in the market  near Pune station ) .. actually evion cream can be used when u r off to office also , for it is not sticky . Evenings try the paste for 20 min & apply the evion cream & morning use just the evion cream alone ...

 even for me this black mark is present Vel. If i do bleech,. then it becomes bright. within few days, it becomes black again. so, i am also benefitted by ur ques....thank u.

Yes latha..same as urs....bleech will be effective for 10 days or so..even am using apricot scrub...but poga matengudhu..so need a permanent solution...

I heard from one of my friend astringent will remove the black mark in neck.

Even i have the same problem vels. So u suggest me which idea gave u success.

Hey Bhuvi..medical shop poi astringent nu keten...2 eduthu katina..one is ayur skin toner and other is ayur deep cleansing lotion..thirumba idhu illa..astringent thaan venumnu sonen..enna oru madhiri pathan...sari nu renduthayum vangitu vandhuten...

i go with sug's answer...generally the black mark around neck is due to bad cholestrol...

i had a friend in my gym...where she use to have very dark neck....she was also on the higher side in weight....but when she started dieting and exercising....the black marks slowly started reducing...

and regarding astringent and cleansing...try and buy oriflame / amway product.....though expensive has good results....but cost matters means go for lakme product....astringent is nothing but toner...u will get it in health n glow....

Vel, since u got the ans to ur blackmarks prob, i thought i ll tell u that Ayur brand has also got an Astringent(i hv it), astringent is used esp for oily skin types. It will remove excess oil on the skin and temporarily close pores on the skin. Very refreshing on the face. Not sure if it ll help on the neck..

Hi Vels I too had the same prob..I checked with my beautician..She said thats because of the thali chain and sweat..So i have stopped wearing it .Only when i am going out i wear Gold..As per her suggestion I applied Kasturi Manjal + Multani Mitti + Curd+ Rose water pack.Apply this pack wait until it dries off then scrub that area ..U will find the difference..As u r allergic to manjal I'll will check with her and let u know other options..I started applying it every weekend and the result is superb..Also try rubbing tomato on the black area just before taking bath..U'll fing the diff.
