Hi Moms,
Which is the most widely spoken language in India?
Today we had a discussion at office and I bet that Hindi is the not the widely spoken language..So moms pls let me know the answer soon..with proper proofs in google..
I will be out to meeting now..will get in another hour or so.

Even i think it is Hindi and after that telugu followed by tamil... Not very sure though...

Even I have heard..that telugu is most widely spoken language....irunga let me surf and let u all know...I can't lose....

Hindi spoken by 43 % of the population . Next is English . This is as per the census taken last in 2001....

I think languages like Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, , Kashmiri, Manipuri, Marathi, Oriya, Punjabi will have hindi slang and they use hindi words in between like tamil & telugu words in sanskrit may be that is the reason why they think Hindi as the most widely speaking lang...
Telugu is the second most speaking lang & its my mother tongue too

Ennapa..i dont have proof...so I got him a Bhel corn..but I am sure..in some quiz on a TV show..they asked abt this...and hindi was not the answer..
