Tags : when does a child starts to write alphabets
I have heared from many that their child started to write alphabets from the age of 2 . when did your child started to write alphabets
Usually kids at the age of 2 can recognise reading patterns than writing with regular reading habit.Mine started writing properly at around 3-3 1/2yrs when in nursery.
My kid is 2.5 yrs old. She hasn't started writing. She will just scribble, if she is given a note and a pen or else she will ask my mother-in-law to write something for her. She says the alphabets orally but i haven't taught her to write. Anyway kids will have to write once they come to L.K.G. So I did not put stress on her.
I don't think we should stress kids into learning anything. My daughter (21/2) tells all the alphabets but still learning to identify. she identifies a few A, B C,E O,I, Y Z etc. Numbers may be are more easily identifiable - I think That's ok all kids are different.
My kid is 3 yrs old not yet in school.. just homeschooling now....She writes some alphabets like A,B,C,D,E,F,H,I,L,O,P,T,U,V....but not in straight line... She whenever has the mood to write she takes the pencil and starts writing...She is much intrested in writing her name.. :)
My son is 3.5 Yrs and is still not very keen in writing...he writes A and H ( jus because Honda Cars has a H in front) and O....he can orally tell all the alphabets but in a sing a song way....he doesn't know which letter comes after which...hoping things will change once he starts lkg
Research has proved that a child should not be made to write before he/ she is atleast 5. We , Indian parents are always in a hurry to teach our children. Let them be happy when they are small. Learning and writing can be done for the rest of their lives.
I agree when suva. Kids have ti know shapes and be able to do cirlcles and diagnols before being handed a pencil to write.
It you get your child to write early by holding her hand or she manages to COPY alpahbets, there is a chance you will be losig speed and legiblity later.
There is research to back this!
my son is 19 months old..he identifies most of the animals and he recites the names of the animals too..he keeps saying himself A, G, D, O, W, P, R when he is playing and says numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 13, 15, and twenteen..and he says fruits names appy, nanana, dates...he identifies kalaignar, bharathiyar, gandhi..etc..
ONE KIND SUGGESTION PLEASE DON'T FORCE UR CHILD TO LEARN...they have time to learn..i agree with suva...please don't pressurize ur child to write alphabets..make them learn things practically..with their day-to-day activities and NEVER COMPARE UR CHILD WITH OTHER CHILDREN...every child is best in their own way and dont put pressure to urself to make him/her learn.
Let's share their funny world pa. Don't expect them to write now itself. They can easily manage when they enter their nursery school. Have a nice time with your kid.
i'm a kindergarten teacher........and as a part of syllabus the kids made to draw and colour at the age of 2.5 to 3.5(pre kg)whereas actually this is the age where they need finguring and not perfection in writing or colouring.....
maybe after 3.5 or so the kids fingers are matured enough to hold the pencil or crayons with grip and make moves
