What is screen name?
A screen name is a name given to identify yourself in bharatmoms website.
So screen name can be anything you wish but it should be unique and can be changed.
Screen name will be shown in Public profile along with your description 'about me'.

How do I change my email address?
The email address you give in your SignUp Screen, will be your email address.
In case you want to change your email address at any time after that you can do that by changing it in your profile ,i.e.you have to Sign In with a new email address.

What do you mean by 'Forgot Password'?
Forgot Password is a link which if you have missed your password, the system will automatically shoot an email to the email address you had specified when you had Signed Up for the first time.
You can go to your email, view your bharatmomspassword and log on to bharatmomswebsite.

What is Personal profile and Public profile?
'Personal' profile can be viewed by you (Signed In User) only.It has the following fields:
Email id.
Screen Name
Full Name
Birthdate
Location
Birth place
Growingup Place
Gender
About Me
You are allowed to change any of the fields except the screen name. Your personal profile can not be viewed by bharatmoms
visitors or other bharatmomsmembers.
'Public Profile' displays your picture (if you have uploaded) along with the 'Location'. It also shows the text you have entered in the 'About Me' field in the 'Personal Profile' page. For a sample 'about me', click on the link given below the 'about me' text box.
You will be able to view your scrapbook entry (if you have keyed in one such) or allow you to keyin your Scrapbook entry in the respective box. Click on Submit button to update your Scrapbook entry.
Public profile is the page which will be shown with your screen name, location, About me and the Scrap Book to all other users of the bharatmomswebsite. Other users cannot read the informations in the personal profile.

How and Where can I enter my kid's details?
You can add your kids names, gender and kids date of birth, in the respective boxes shown in this page.
Key in the Name, Birthdate and Gender fields appropriately. When you are done click on the Save button. To add more kids, simply key in next kid's name, birthdate and Gender fields and again click on the Save button.
If you are expecting, you can click the 'Im expecting' check box and also enter the date in 'My Due Date'. Just click here and you will get a calendar pop up, where you can choose the date of arrival of your kid.

What is Scrap Book?
Scrapbook is a place for the entries that other people use to write to you and they are seen by public.Scrapbook entries can be of various types like "your kids looks adorable in this picture", "no sound from you long time? what happened?" etc. .Scrap Book is a place where you can talk about your likes, dislikes, rather anything which comes to your mind.
Please note that you must be a friend of the other mom to write in the other's scrapbook.In other mom's public profile there is a link 'connect with <screen name>' When you click on this link, a friendship request is sent to the other mom, on the approval of which you both become friends and will be able write in each others scrapbook.
Similarly you will get the friend request sent by other moms in your 'Friend Request' page which is in 'Moms' page, you can either accept or decline it by clicking on the respective button.

How do I set my email notifications?
Click on Profile Page and choose Settings. There will be a list of settings which you can click on the check box to activate/deactivate.

No. Your email address will never be shared with anybody including other members of bharatmoms. bharatmomswill use your email address to send you email notifications and also any tools and promotional material which are of use to moms. Email addresses will never be made public.

How do I become a friend of another mom in this website?
Click on your fellow-moms picture or link. You will be able to view her public profile.Notice that there is a ink 'Connect with <Mom's Screen Name>'. Click on this link. Your request will be sent to that fellow-mom. You have to wait for her to either Accept or Decline your request for friendship.

How do I respond to a request?
Notice the 'Post It' type panel on the right side of the page you are viewing. Click on the 'Requests' link. You will be able to view your fellow moms friendship request. You can either Accept or Decline the request by clicking on the respective button.
Alternatively,you can go to the friend's request by going to Moms page, then to Friends Request page.

How do I send a member a message?
To send a message, you need to be a friend of that fellow-mom. Once you send a friend request to her and in the event of she accepting the same, you will be able to send and reply messages to her.
Go to the public profile of the fellow-mom by clicking on the link (her screen name or photo anywhere in the site), you can send her messages by clicking the 'Send a Message' link given in the box below her photo.
It will take you to the 'Messages' page,where the 'To' field will already be filled, you have to give the 'Subject' as it is a mandatory field, then add your message in the text area,when you are finished, click 'send'. To cancel the operation there is 'Cancel'.
Similarly, you can click on the 'Messages' link available on the right of your screen (Post It type panel). You will enter a new screen. There you can click on Read, Reply or Trash the message you received.
All messages that you have sent will be in the Sent folder.
All messages that you have received will be in the Inbox Folder
All messages that you have deleted will be in the Trash Folder.
Trash Folder messages are emptied after a month by the system automatically.
You can Undo Delete if a message is existing on your Trash Folder.
You get messages when your friends in bharatmoms forward Questions and Answers to friends.

What is Latest Activity on the website?
Latest Activity gives information about the happenings on bharatmoms website. Latest Activity will intimate viewers who are connecting with each other, who has posted the latest blog or asked a new question or replied to a question or commented on a blog.

What does Comment mean?
"Comment" is the response posted by moms to the particular blog.
You can post comment to a blog in the "Leave your comment" text box in the detailed blog page.Usually, moms post their own opinions or experiences about the topic of the blog or they comment on whether they like the blog.

"Answer" is the response posted by moms to a question. You can answer a question by the "Quick answer" button in every
question in the Featured Questions page.
Or in the Detailed question page, "Reply" text area with the text editor.

To invite your friends into this website, there is "Invite Friends" button in the top-right in all the pages except home page.
In Invite Friends you can either add your friends email addresses from your address book directly by "Add from my address book" button
or
you can add by giving friends email address in the given text area and "Quick Invite" button separated by comma.
When you forward a question & answer or a blog to your friends, You get a "forwarded to your frirends" message and a link "invite your friends to bharatmoms". You can use this link to automatically invite these friends.

Can you explain me the order of the questions? The latest questions doesn't come on top.
The unanswered questions, the questions posted by your friends and local moms come on top. Then comes the latest and popular questions.

Why does the latest activity display "a new mom connected with Administrator", everyone knows if a new mom signs up as it's displayed on the home page itself. Why again on latest activity?
This is for the new moms to know that they can get connected with (become friends) with other moms in the site as well. Also only friends have certain priveleges (say to post a private message). So if the new mom has any questions about the site, they can feel free to send private message to the Administrator than to post a question or blog to all the members.

To see the friends requests you received, click on the 'Moms' menu, go to the 'Friends Request' submenu. You can accept or reject the friends request by clicking the respective button.

* Please do not post any personally identifiable information (like email IDs, telemobile numbers, address etc) in the public forum. Even though our forum is very safe, it is still a public forum and non-members can read any content you post.

Enter your kids date of birth in 'kids profile page' and then go to moms menu - 'something in common with you'- will list the moms who have kids in your kid's age group.

How to post profile picture?
Click 'Profile' in Menu,
Choose 'Photo gallery' in the submenu and click 'Add Gallery'
In the 'Add Gallery' page give 'Title' and 'Description' and create a gallery by clicking on 'submit' button.
In the 'photos in<title> gallery' click add photo.
In the 'Add photo' page, click the 'Browse' button to choose the photo and then click upload.
In the 'photos in<title> gallery' click the 'select as your profile photo' icon.This will make this photo as your profile photo.

Why is the chat window not showing up when I click the Chat button?
Please check if you've blocked the pop-ups in your browser. Please unblock the pop-ups as bharatmoms chat will open in a pop-up window.

How do I know which moms all are online?
Click on the number link on top to the right hand side of the header "bharatmoms chat!" This is the number of moms who are online at that time. If you click on it, it'll show all moms who are online at the bottom of the chat window as shown below.

How do I private chat?
To private chat with only one mom, click on  near the mom with whom you would like to chat privately. Please note that if the other mom did not click on the private chat icon, then her response will be displayed publicly to all moms who are chatting, but not your messages.
To private chat with a group of moms, all the moms who would like to group chat should click on of all other moms in that group. Then the messages posted by these moms will be private only to this group of moms.

How do I verify my email and mobile number?
Email verification:
1. As soon as you sign up, we will send a "Welcome" email with your login details. In the same email we would have given a link to verify your email. Please click on that link to verify your email.
2. If you have not received the email or have lost that email, Please click on "Profile" menu on top. It'll show your personal profile with the email id you've used to sign up. If this email id is correct, please click on the link - "Please click here to verify your email id". This will send an email from our site to your email id. Please check your email and verify your email id.
3. If the email in your personal profile is in-correct. Please enter the correct email id and update. This will send an email from our site to your email id. Please check your email and verify your email id.
Phone verification:
1. Please click on "Profile" menu on top. It'll show your personal profile with the mobile number field. If you've already given your mobile number but it's not yet verified, then please click on the link - "Please click here to verify your mobile number". This will place a request for us to call you and verify your mobile number.
2. If you have not given your mobile number so far, please enter your mobile number and click the 'update' button. This will place a request for us to call you and verify your mobile number.

For mobile number verification:
1. If you are outside India, please check if your mobile number is entered with ISD code. Please email the time difference of your residing country from India to admin@chennaimoms.com. We will call you within 24 hrs.
2. Please click on "Profile" on top, and click on the link "Please click here to verify your mobile number". This will place the mobile verification request to us.

Please make sure that you have not updated the verified email id and the verified mobile number in your profile. If they are updated, then you have to follow the whole email and phone verification process again.

Only if the user provides the mobile number, it'll be verified. This is because landline number cannot pertain to the same person at home or at office. So your phone verification request would have been ignored. Please change your profile to have the mobile number and then submit for verification again. If you do not have an Indian mobile number, please send an email to admin@chennaimoms.com.

This points indicate how much karma a mom has earned by her good deeds on our site. The more activity you do, more will be your karma. Activity is nothing but posting questions, answers, blogs, blog comments.
The image beside the karma points is the gems that indicate your level. The following is the order of gems from the least score to the highest score.

How to make friends in this site?
There are multiple ways to make friends here! The only criteria is you should've verified your email and mobile number.
1. View any mom's profile and click on "Connect with (screen name)" link. It'll send a friendship request to the mom. Once she accepts it, you both will be friends.
2. If some other mom sends you a friend's request, you just have to click on "Moms" menu and click "Accept" or "Decline" buttons to accept or decline the other mom's friends request.
3. On any other page you can see a 'Connect' link just below the mom's image. Just click on it to send a friendship request to the mom.
