I am yet to come out of the excitement and the fun-filled
memories of Chennaimoms.com's Mamma Mia 2010 where our fellow moms and their kids show cased their talents, walked the ramp and were crowned "Ms.Chennaimoms", "Little Princess" and "Little Prince". The occasion was more like a family get-together rather than a formal function. Why am I surprised, after all "We all are virtual family" would say our friend "Sranj".

And now comes the Valentine's Day, so the theme is Romance of course! We have many interesting and useful information to have a fun filled Valentines day in this Newsletter like where to go out, what to present and so on. Chennaimoms is also hosting a contest for all moms to share their memorable and romantic experience. The mom's who is expressing her thoughts very well is gonna win a dinner for two! Check it out and enjoy your valentine's day.

  Redefining Valentines Day  by " Dhanasree Jayaram "

"No sooner met but they looked;
No sooner looked but they loved;
No sooner loved but they sighed;
No sooner signed but they asked one another the reason;
No sooner knew the reason but they sought the remedy;
And in these degrees have they made a pair of stairs to marriage"

Love is defined by different people in different ways but love is inevitable.  Jean Jacques Rousseau asserts in his theory of social contract that man cannot live in isolation; isolation can only be warded off by loving humans, loving nature and loving yourself. And if love goes unexpressed in life, isolation chases you till the end of your life. So it is time for everyone to keep aside differences, misunderstandings, disputes and egos and express heartfelt and unconditional love for their loved ones. Valentines’ Day bestows the opportunity of celebrating love and expressing the feeling of love on every human being on this earth.

The usual ways of celebrating love are presenting fragrant red roses or lovely greeting cards or delicious chocolates. Valentines’ Day is often targeted by the conservatives as according to them it destroys the cultural fabric of India whose foundation lies on morality and ethics. It is also targeted by the rationalists as they strongly believe that it is just a marketing gimmick by which the corporates mint the public’s money. Some may argue, “Does presenting a gift to your loved one on a particular day in the year make your love for that person everlasting? Does one need a special day to express love? Is it not a life-long experience as well as obligation?” Despite all these contentions, Valentines’ Day is celebrated by billions of people across the globe including in India.... More»
