The kids should not give out personal information such as address, telephone number, parents' work address/telephone number, or the name and location of their school without parents' permission. *

The kids have to tell their parents right away if they come across any information that makes them feel uncomfortable.

The kids should never agree to get together with someone they 'meet' online without first checking with their parents. If their parents agree to the meeting, they should be sure that it is in a public place and take their mother or father along.

The kids should their picture or anything else to this new person without first checking with their parents. *

The kids should not respond to any messages that are mean or in any way make them feel uncomfortable. It is not their fault if they get a message like that. If they do they will have to tell their parents right away so that the parents can contact the authorities.

Parents have to talk with the kids and set up rules for going online. They can decide upon the time of day that the kids can be online, the length of time they can be online and appropriate areas for the kids to visit. The kids should not access other areas or break these rules.

The kids should not give out their Internet password to anyone (even their best friends) other than parents.

The kids will have to check with their parents before downloading or installing software or doing anything that could possibly hurt the computer or jeopardize their family's privacy *

The kids will have to be a good online citizen and not do anything that hurts other people or is against the law.

The kids will have to help their parents understand how to have fun and learn things online and teach them things about the Internet, computers and other technology.
